when u do get them do u have to put it together

You have to put it together. However, none of my peices fit and had to return it. Do not buy this product

Can horney be used in it instead of oil?

Lube would work better, butt if you use enough oil the kernels burn hot , yet none stick to the pot. If there’s enough horney, no oil would be needed, butt it would need to be very horney. I would recommend avocado oil instead.

Has anyone tried popping more then 2.5oz of popcorn in this machine?

Yes, I doubled it up and it popped fine. I do feel that it ejects too many un-popped ones. Hopefully it helps... Still cool to use and have...
