A great novel of the Second WW2 both exciting and . .heart warming.
Loved the characters and their ability to be so brave under terrible adversity. The people who inspired you to believe in the power of the human spirit

Fascinating and heart breaking
This novel is the story of 15 year old German Jewish twins,, Asta and Jurgen, and begins in pre-war Germany, in Hamburg. The twins are inseparable but, following the sudden arrest of their parents, they are separated during their flight to Denmark, where they hope to take refuge with their Aunt Trine, near Elsinore. Many WW2 novels expose the cruelty and hardship endured by European Jews in concentration camps but this book appealed to me because it deals with a different aspect - the frantic and determined attempt to flee to safety. The twins do encounter hardship and cruelty along the way but they also receive kindness and support. The novel is well written and hold the reader's interest from start to finish. You can engage with all the characters. I would recommend this novel to other readers.

Nice read
Interesting story and a quick read. So many WWII stories but it never gets boring or fails to make an impression.
