I don't know if I buy into the "engine running smoother" reviews. If you're engine runs smooth it runs smooth on any modern api oil BUT. This oil does fantastic with controlling leaking and consuming oil. I have a 1993 Chevy k1500 that will beat a little oil on the bell housing if it doesn't use this. I've tried other high mileage 10w40's and it will go back to beading up. One thing is it is a little bit thicker than most 10w40s. Oil is measured in centistokes and this has a higher value than other 10w40. There is a "range" that can classify as a 10w40 and this at the top end of that range. Also, my subjective opinion is it has a good seal swelling additive. I can't prove that but the truck will try up and not leak once this gets into the system for a few hundred miles.
