I've tried quite a few sunscreens over the years, and this one has quickly become one of my favorites. I originally found it while I was browsing a website that listed the best mineral-based sunscreens to buy. As someone who lives in Florida and deals with intense sun pretty much year-round, I need something that actually works, and this sunscreen definitely delivers. One of the biggest things I appreciate is that it doesn't leave a noticeable white cast on my skin like a lot of mineral sunscreens do. It blends in surprisingly well and gives me great peace of mind when I'm spending time outdoors. The sun protection has been excellent, even during long days in the Florida heat. Another plus is the scent. It doesn't have that strong sunscreen smell that some products have. Instead, it's very light and neutral, which I really enjoy because it doesn't clash with any perfumes or lotions I wear. My only small complaint is that it can feel a little tacky on the skin after application. It's not a dealbreaker by any means, and honestly, I'd much rather deal with a slight tacky feeling than risk getting sunburned. For the level of protection and the lack of a white cast, it's a trade-off I'm completely willing to make. Overall, I'm really happy with this sunscreen and will definitely keep using it. If you're looking for a mineral sunscreen that provides great protection without the usual drawbacks, I think this one is worth trying.

Excellent product - does not leave you looking white

I found this sunscreen because I was concerned about the harmful ingredients found in many other popular sunscreens. I looked up ratings on EWG and found the handful of top rated suncreens and this lotion was the highest rating you could get for a relatively affordable price in a lotion formula. PROS: Goes on well, not too greasy or thick. I thought the smell was just fine - I had seen some reviews saying the smell was horrible but I didn't experience that at all. It worked great on the kids and adults and seemed to be effective in the pool for a few hours in the sun and water. CONS: It's a smaller bottle at a higher price point - but I think that's what you end up paying for something that's higher quality and safe. I think we'll go through this bottle pretty quick, it's a bit small, especially for a family with kids. I did notice a slight white cast once in the water, but it wasn't excessive and it seemed to absorb in better with time. I will continue to keep buying this sunscreen and also will be looking for a safe sunscreen stick. I could see myself using this lotion for faces and finding a stick for the rest of the body, but until then I'll use this one all over.

This sunscreen is one of the independently highest rated sunscreens for UVA and UVB balance, along with safe ingredients. Any other sunscreen I have found that matches the performance of the Babo SPF 50 also comes with bad ingredients. The simple sunscreens with limited number of natural ingredients don't absorb into skin as well and can leave it feeling a little oily. Benefits of the Babo SPF 50: - Super easy to spread compared to other natural sunscreens, especially compared to the sticks and tins. - Dries very fast for a natural sunscreen. So glob it on thick and it will absorb in and dry. - Cheaper than many similar alternatives. - Approved by the EWG ORG as one of the highest rated sunscreens on the market for overall health and safety. - Doesn't leave anywhere close to the greasiness of many other natural sunscreens. Even leaves skin dry at times. - Less likely to smear on sunglasses once fully dry and rubbed in than many other sunscreens. TIPS! - Don't leave the bottle in hot place. Might degrade or separate contents. - It is extremely easy to put on too thin because of how well it spreads once warmed up on skin. Make sure to put on more than your think needs to be there. It will dry fast. IF anything, put on multiple coatings.

I have a UV sensitivity, meaning I can't be exposed to sun for very long. So I always have sunblock in my purse. I prefer the mineral ones because of potential skin irritation (my skin can get very sensitive when in the sun). My biggest issue is most mineral sunblocks transfer the white film to clothes and well.. the car. Being the type of person who wears dark colored clothes (okay, black. Goths wear black) and having a black interior in my car (and I spend a lot of time in the car for work), getting white streaks all over everything is not ideal. I've noticed that this one doesn't transfer a lot of white onto my clothes or anything that I come in contact with. A little bit, yes. There will always be something. But they meant it when they said sheer. My last sunblock left behind a lot of white on everything. And it does seem to do its job for blocking UV rays. I'm not the best for assessing that because even in the 90°+ weather, I wear long sleeves and pants (the sunblock is for extra protection for the covered skin, protection for the little bit exposed skin). But on the little skin that's exposed, it seems to block as much as any other 50 SPF sunblock. I haven't seen much tanning, though I do avoid exposure at all costs, when I can't avoid it, the sunblock is working well.

Have been using the Babo Botanicals Sheer Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50 for a couple of years now and really impressed. I have light skin and lots of sun damage from the past so I'm very picky about what I use. Also, cannot stand the smell of non-mineral sunscreen, so love a good mineral that blends easily. When I use a smaller amount and do a section at a time, this one blends nicely with no white cast. Mineral sunscreens tend to be a little dry, but this one does not dry my skin out, and washes off easily. I have yet to get much sun at all with this stuff on, even in FL, which is a good thing!

I’m giving this 3 stars because it has clean ingredients and is fragrance-free. However, this sunscreen is not sheer, especially on darker or more tan skin. It leaves an obvious white cast and tends to accumulate on elbows and knees, making those areas appear even whiter. I’m sure it does a great job of blocking the sun because no rays are getting past the thick white layer that sits on top of your skin. Unfortunately, it doesn’t absorb completely, which makes it very noticeable after application.

Brilliant mineral sunscreen, I have extremely sensitive skin, chemical and harsh ingredients cause me irritation and I burn easily. It’s one of the best brands for mineral sunscreens with the safest ingredients. It gives excellent protection, easy to apply and no white cast, stays on after swimming, so no need to reapply every time. I can’t recommend enough.

Finally a mineral sunscreen that doesn’t leave a white cast on darker skin and has an SPF of 50. You just have to shake it up a bit before you apply.

I love the gentleness of such a mighty physical sunblock! Nice cacao scent too! Highly recommended.
