Compact dehydrator for smaller homes.
Seems to work fine. I tried drying some parsley. According to the internet you should dry it at 95 degrees, so I set the temperature at the first notch. It took a long time, over 10 hours and it still was not dry. However, since it was new I kept unplugging it every time I left the house, for safety purposes until I was sure it would be safe to continue to run unattended. The power cord is short which is as electrical guidelines indicate, and you are not to place it on any flammable surfaces, wood trivets, or counters, cutting boards, so I placed it on my stove. Eventually I placed it on a metal rack that actually elevated it to 2 inches above any surface. Dehydrator was fine, and did get warm. I finally turned it up to the mark at 104 degrees and it finished drying. So the temperature knob is a little confusing to interpret. I do like the fact that there is a temperature control, it is very easy to clean and is actually very compact. I think it will work fine for my needs.

Wash, Plug-in, and Use
I have owned a Mr. Coffee dehydrator for many years and this year it finally stopped working. I looked for a replacement, but Mr. Coffee apparently doesn't make them any more. This NutriChef dehydrator appears to be identical. The drying racks are exactly the same. The only difference is the adjustable temperature setting. Hoping to be able to stack my current trays on top of the trays that come with the NutriChef was my motivation for buying it, and the price. So far I am pleased. I dried a batch of figs just as soon as I received my appliance and it worked just like my previous machine. I can't give it 5 stars until I see how long it lasts, but I am pleased with it so far. The trays are easy to wash. The only things I would change about the machine is 1). Instead of Low, Med, High, I wish the temperatures were printed on the machine dial, rather than my having to refer to the owner's manual, page 19 to figure them out every time I use it, and 2). If drips are dangerous to the mechanics of the machine, why doesn't it come with a removable plastic drip catcher?

Makes great dog jerky treats!
Purchased to make sweet potato chips, chicken & beef jerky for my dogs. I baked sweet potatoes & cooled in fridge overnight. Sliced to 1/4" thickness & put into dehydrator. I flipped them every couple of hours & switched positions of trays until desired dryness. The dogs love them. With all the recalls & issues concerning treats, I can now feel more assured of quality ingredients & handling/storage of product.
