HTS 186P7 7" 4 Notch Stainless Steel Ring Opening Pliers

A precision made tool! Extremely well matched set of plier sides mated to an engineered fulcrum point, smooth precise function with a good feel and excellent spring return. I make chain maille and other types of linked wire bracelets and accessories, opening literally thousands of rings to make a 20" 'box' chain is a real PITA without a set of opening pliers, and these are among the best pliers I have ever purchased.

It worked very well up until I tried to use them to spread 2ga captive bead rings. I have burly hands, and I was barely able to get them to work, all the while feeling them start to bend and stress under the strain.Not long enough/don't have the leverage for above 4ga, and I'm wondering if I will be able to get my 2ga rings out ever, or if these pliers will give up the ghost when I try to use them next time.

No problem whatsoever opening a 6-gauge CBR actually feels like you could completely destroy a ring with these pliers if you wanted to great tool

Decent construction, nice weight, reverse spring is smooth. Both sides, the metal at pivot point is fairly sharp and rough. Granted, you shouldn't have your fingers there but, for over all look and quality (and safety of accident prone people like myself hah) that should probably be smoothed or rounded out a bit.BTW - It really does work with bead rings small as 1/4". Had issues in the past where tool was supposed to and didn't. So if you've had similar probs you're safe to buy this one.Overall, it's a good tool for a decent price. I'd recommend it.

Handles are too short. Even when using the notches closest to the pivot point, it still requires too much force to open a large gauge ring (#4). Longer and less curved handles would be a vast improvement.

These pliers are top quality. Very heavy material, large comfortable size. Im impressed with them. Also they work great. I use them for my 4G CBR rings and they do the trick. A must-have for people with body jewelry

These work great and well worth having on hand. If you complain your jewelry cant be opened, dont complain when these are right here for the taking. Ive used mine quite a bit and no problems at all.
