Good polarizer film for LCD repair
Since the polarizer of the Liquid Crystal display of my Multimeter was damaged, I ordered this polarizer film. --------A bit about LCD ------- LCD usually contains two polarizers. One on the front side and other on the rear side of the display. Check the image attached along pertaining to the working of LCD for more details. Both are actually SAME polarizers. The Rear one will have a reflective surface in addition to the polarizer film. But you can use a white paper instead of a reflective surface. The backlight emits unpolarized light. When unpolarized light travels through a polarizer, only the light having a specific orientation will pass through it. (Or the film will re- emit only the light of a specific orientation, called polarized light). Depending on the orientation of the film, it can be any 0 degree (horizontal polarized light) to 90 degree (vertical polarized light). Many LCD uses 45 degrees too. The unpolarized back light travels through the rear polarizer, which allows only a specific component of the light according to the orientation of that film in that particular display. If the rear film was set to allow vertically polarized light, then only vertical polarized light will pass through it. This vertically polarized light then enters the liquid crystal layer, which is the electrically controlled layer in a normal LCD. The Liquid crystal can be of different types. In my case, the Liquid crystal is twisted when no electricity is applied to the LCD. The twisted liquid crystal can change the orientation of vertical polarized light to horizontal. This horizontal polarized light will then enter the front polarizer. The Rear and front polarizers are often kept at 90 degrees. So here since rear one is Vertical orientation, the front one will be Horizontal orientated. Since the light leaving the Liquid crystal layer is horizontal, this light passes through the front polarizer layer without much loss. So the Liquid crystal will appear translucent and we won't see any digits on the LCD. When electricity is applied, the Liquid crystal will become straight. So now it will not twist the light orientation. Hence the Vertical polarized light from rear polarizer will pass through Liquid crystal without any deviations. But since Front polarizer is aligned Horizontally, the vertically polarized light from the Liquid crystal will be blocked by the front polarizer. So that segment will appear dark. ------Product usage---------- This polarizing sheet blocks around 80% of light when we use two of them in 90 degree opposition. So it might not suit for applications where maximum black/darkness is needed. But in my case, the polarizing filter was perfect fit for the Multimeter LCD. Watch the video for details. The Rear polarizer along with the reflective surface was damaged, so I used a properly aligned(since front polarizer was intact, I had to align the rear one 90 degree wrpt to the front polarizer. Watch the video for details) section of the polarizer sheet along a peiece of white paper as the reflective surface. ----About the product quality---- The product was delivered with utmost diligence. It was placed in a card board box in a proper way to ensure that the film will stay as flat as possible. The film didn't got curled up as a result. There were no scratches on the received film. The film contains two plastic protectors. One on the adhesive side and other on the non adhesive side. The adhesive is a good one. It didn't cause any air bubbles when I adhered it to the LCD. Just make sure that there are no dust particles on the LCD before you adhere the film to it. Use Iso propyl alcohol to clean the LCD. Make sure the cloth you use doesn't leave residues. Before cutting the polarizer film, make sure you got the orientation right. Use a small part of it to check whether the film will work in the chosen orientation before cutting the film to the size of 'whole display'. --------------------- This film can also be used for creating Negative LCD. Change the front polarizing filter of the LCD and orient the new film in such a direction that the LCD appears dark normally. Now on powering up the LCD will be a Negative LCD with inverted segment colours. (Black background and white or translucent segments) -------------------- Overall, the product is a good one especially since the product doesn't have any damages/scratches and have the required optical quality adhesive for repairing LCD's.

Superb polarization potential
I got these today, Before ordering I was quite skeptical after reading reviews 😅 But this turned out be a great product 100% worth the dimes. I checked the polarization potential by crossing the two lens silhouettes and to my surprise no light was passing, this prooves the polariser material quality is of top notch 👌. I used these to make DIY polarized powered glasses for my prescription.. and they turned out as expected reducing excessive glare and minimizing horizontal reflections. I highly recommend these.. And the packing was good and the sheet was not curling on its own

Excellent
Served my purpose for a negative display. But its on the costly side when you compare it with the size of sheet you get.

No adhesive as advertised
When tried to apply on LCD screen after peeling protective cover on adhesive side found that there is no adhesive at all. It is expensive and all money wasted.
