Super Yummy and Healthy!
I just want to say thank you to Annieโs for producing a healthy and tasty alternative to Mac n cheese for kids. Every show they watch, or book they read makes them think they are supposed to eat and love Mac n cheese. I never raised my kids on it, but they kept asking because of shows and books. Finally I can make it for them and it meets my criteria for healthy and they love it! I must say growing up eating Mac n cheese (and being addicted to it), I actually love the taste of this product as well. We add a bit more seasoning just to give it a little kick, with onion salt, garlic, paprika, and a pinch of creole. I modify the cooking instructions a bit when I make it. I like to melt the โbutterโ, and add the seasoning packet to the โbutterโ in a warm pan while stirring with a whisk. Itโs a similar method to making a roux. After the โbutterโ and seasoning packet are combined with no lumps, I evenly sprinkle my extra seasonings over the top and stir well. Once that is all a whisked together, I stir in about an ounce at a time of the 1/2 cup of plant based โmilkโ and whisk well to make a smooth โcheeseโ sauce. Once that is all combined I stir in the cooked & drained noodles. Itโs creamy and delicious! I highly recommend this organic, good for you alternative to Mac n cheese! Itโs a great product and you can add your own personal flare to it!

A delicious surprise
I was pleasantly surprised. The sauce is creamy and a little sweet but I added some seasoning and it was a good balance. Next time, Iโll add either a wedge of non dairy laughing cow or a teaspoon of nondairy Boursin.

Best Annieโs vegan Mac, with tweaks
This is pretty good if you give it a little help, though Annieโs could improve their recipe and make it a much better value. I made this with oat milk and miyokoโs butter. The initial taste was pretty sweet and squash-forward with garlic notes, but also a bit bland. I ended up adding some sea salt (could also add miso), a little lactic acid (maybe 1/4-1/2 tsp?), and some savory spice blend I regularly add to soups/tofu scramble/etc. I ate it with some pepper blend on top and found it pretty satisfying after the tweaks. The added acidity and seasoning gave it some of the cheesiness, sharpness, and depth it was missing, turning it into something that tasted more like a Mac and cheese that reminded me of hippeas white cheddar flavor with a slightly better acid balance. If you really need the convenience of a box, this is your best Annieโs optionโฆ but given that this still needs some work flavor wise, it is probably easier and cheaper in the long run to come up with your own cheesy vegan spice blend powder, keep it stocked in your pantry with a box of mini shells, and make a much better vegan instant Mac from scratch.

Not bad
Not exactly what I was hoping for. Kind of a sweet flavor. But not gross or anything. Good with hot sauce.

Nice flavor combo. Normal Annie's quality & taste.
This was my 1st time trying this combo & I have to say I liked it a lot. The ingredients are such good quality that it's hard not to like the taste anyway. The flavors are good & having a slight sweet potato pumpkin added was a nice touch. I'll be keeping a box or two of these on hand in my pantry for a nice, healthy, delicious quick meal.

Best Vegan Mac n Cheese
I've tried Daiya (oft-putting and no worth purchasing; I also dont like any Daiya product), Uptons (very good but double the price; definitely worth trying) and Road's End (bland and very average, but not oft-putting, so I still buy). However, this is the best because it is very similar to the cheap boxed style Mac n Cheese (which I think has a more buttery flavor and consistency than a real cheesy product like the Velveeta style or homemade). This and Uptons are my go to, but this tastes more like traditional cheap mac n cheese from a box if thats what your going for. Uptons has precooked noodles and their sauce is a liquid (like velveeta just not as thick) that has more of a smoky flavor. Both are awesome

Awful
This tastes like cardboard. I guess if you do not have much of a palate and are looking for a vegan mac and cheese I guess it's your cup of tea. I rather put in the work and make my own vegan mac and cheese with real ingredients..and you know some flavor. The flavor was so weird and lacking I ended up putting some Rao's marinara sauce to help it. It did...kind of ....and Rao's is some powerful stuff. I would not buy it again. I now have several boxes of this and will probably donate it to a shelter or keep it on hand when a hurricane comes and I get desperate.
