SheaMoisture Face and Body Bar for Oily, Blemish-Prone Skin African Black Soap Paraben Free 3.5 oz 4 Count, facial cleanser

This is a great product for acne scars. I used to buy this in target but now it is hard to come by so I just order it on Amazon. I have sensitive skin: prone to acne scars and eczema. I do not break out frequently but when I do I can almost guarantee a scar will appear. I am also prone to just regular scaring as well. I am of darker completion. The Mederma cream and bio oil have never worked for me. I use this in the shower a few times a week ( I also have acne scaring on my upper back) and on my face every other day. You have to use it in conjunction with a great moisturizer as it can be drying. The scent is clean but not floral (which I prefer). It rinses well and does not leave a residue or weird lingering smell. Definitely would recommend. If you were to purchase you definitely need a type of soap dish that drains so that the bar doesn’t disintegrate in the water after you have used it, make sure to rinse the bar quickly after each use (do not keep it in the shower either bc the frequent moisturizer will not preserve the soap as it is supposed to). A must buy for me!

Let me just say this stuff is awesome. I suffer from HS and cystic acne. I also get hormonal break outs on my face and large painful cysts. I have tried so many products. I use this on my face every time I shower and all over my body especially areas that are prone to HS flares such as my underarms and inner thighs. My scars are starting to heal and the dark areas are starting to lighten. My face is the clearest I've seen it in years and I currently have zero, active cystic lesions. This hasn't happened since I was a teen and even then my face was oily and broken out. I will admit the smell is different, not bad just smells medicinal and it does slightly dry my skin. But considering that I can wear a lightweight moisturizer and the scent is minimal, I couldn't expect more from this product. I am sold, 100%. I am so very grateful to have found something that provides me relief from HS as well as being affordable and is only an extra step to my shower routine. I'm over the moon!!! I switched over to this soap when I was coming off a really bad full-body contact dermatitis rash. Before using this soap, I was using Dove and when I got out of the shower, the calamine lotion had been washed off and I needed to reapply immediately. After using this soap, I'm not sure if it was because the calamine lotion was still there or because the black soap offered itch relief but I could go over halfway through my day without reapplying calamine lotion. I am a male and the scent smells awesome. I would not describe it as masculine or feminine. Unfortunately, it doesn't stick around long after the shower. I am also Black. Before using this soap, if I didn't use lotion, I would be ashy all day. With this soap, I don't need lotion. My skin isn't as moisturized as it is when I use lotion but it isn't ashy either and that's all that I care about. It lathers up really good. It seems to last a while considering the size. I'm about halfway through and I've been using it once or twice a day for 2 weeks. This isn't a very large bar of soap. If you are comparing this to a big box brand like Irish Springs, it's a pretty small bar of soap for 5 bucks. You can probably get three irish springs bars that are almost twice as big for the same price. But when you factor in quality, I think it's worth it and I highly recommend it.

I chose this African black soap because I have already tried other Shea Moisture products that worked well, and this one didn't seem to have a high percentage of the raw soap in comparison with other brands, so I thought it'd be less drying, good to test it as I've never used it. Initially I got it for my face and shoulders but after a couple uses I found it really drying for the face (I have combination skin there: greasy on the T-zone and dry on the sides) so I just use it one or two times a week on the rest of the body. The soap lasts for long, smells heavenly and it lingers a bit after wash, the carbon ash creates a grey foam but doesn't stain the skin, and the bar has like small oats incrusted so it's more than exfolliating while moisturizing, doesn't leave the rest of the body dry, "pulled" or stretchy. I even used it on a healed tattoo and it felt way better than regular natural soap bars. Overall I wouldn't recommend it for sensitive skin but oily types would definitely like it, could be good with a water based moisturized right afterwards (face) or a shea body butter.

Ooookay!!!!! I just had a baby 3 months ago so my hormones have been going absolutely crazy, causing my face and neck to break out in reall bad cystic acne 🙃 as well with some patches of redness and dry skin. I got it the first day and washed my face and neck and noticed a HUGE change the next morning. I sis it again obviously. And the pimples I have had on my neck for almost a month are almost gone!. I have tried so many different things its ridiculous. This was my last hope before going to the doctor. The smell is good but kinda smells like old lady. It doesn't leave my skin feeling dry or stiff. And my skin tone is already started to even out. And I've need using it for 3 days. 100% recommend. The suds a a big black and it has what looks to be a few random flakes of oats. This will definitely be a normal purchase for me.

I have battled with so many skin care regimes that I was about to give up and deal with my ugly cystic acne forever. I’m 25 and I still get zits! This is the real deal. My skin is so sensitive it only reacted well to Cetaphil or Cerave, so I was skeptical when this product was recommended. It’s amazing! I love it. I use a skin cleansing pad and work it into a lather on my face. My skin has cleared up so much, I only really get zits now around my lady time. My acne scars are still there, but they look like they may be fading slowly too (or I’m going crazy). It smells great and the smell stays around for a while in the bathroom. I would imagine it’s great for body acne as well! If you’re skeptical like I was, take the leap of faith. It’s worth the money and it works

This seams like a fairly good product, however, I found it to be a bit grainy so perhaps I was not using it correctly. Since I have never bought this product before, I am unsure how to rate it yet it strikes me as being almost like Lava brand soap yet totally different. But the product did not irritate my skin in any way, so I think it is probably safe for use with people that have sensitive skin. And may be good for those who have acne, or that tend to get blemishes when shaving. All in all I was not displeased with this product, as it has a good smell to it and did a fair job when washing with it. Would I buy it again? that I am not sure of, without doing more research about this product and what it's intended use is outside of general hygiene.

I was using a pen and the ink leaked on my hand, I washed my hands with this soap and it took the ink off. I also got permanent marker on my hands from an art project the soap got the marker off my hand , no scrubbing involved and my hand was not even stained!!

Pasé mi primer embarazo con la cara llena de granitos porque mi piel es grasosa, pero en mi 2° embarazo eso no fue un problema porque conocí éste jabón y pasó todo ese tiempo y aún hoy sigo con la completamente libre de grasas y granitos; Es lo mejor que he probado.

Die Seife riecht wirklich wunderbar, ich wasche mir zunächst sozusagen die Hände mit der Seife - zuvor hatte ich sie richtig gewaschen - und gebe dann den Schaum auf mein Gesicht. Nach einiger Zeit der Verwendung muss ich sagen, dass meine Poren an der Wange sich verkleinert haben und meine Haut allgemein sehr viel reiner geworden ist. Ich kann mir wirklich gut vorstellen, dass die Seife auch Pickelmale unsichtbarer macht :).
