"Floral Dance" Hand blown Blue Vase with floral design hand engraved

This custom elegant vase was hand blown by Cal Breed of Orbix Hot Glass. It was then engraved by Catherine. She wanted to create a light airy feeling to compliment Cal's Expertise. Intaglio - noun in•ta•glio \in-ˈtal-(ˌ)yō : A technique in art in which an image is created by cutting, carving or engraving Hand engraved creations are created solely by Catherine. She accomplishes this by using the Old World Technique of stone wheel engraving. Stone wheel engraving is accomplished by using a lathe with stone wheels of various diameters and widths. Catherine engraves the crystal or glass against the rotating water cooled stone wheel to create various cuts and designs. These pieces are all uniquely hand made using only the wheels freehand.
