HESHS Allen & Roth Valdosta 20-in Oil-Rubbed Bronze Outdoor Downrod Mount Ceiling Fan

I bought two of these fans for my front porch and I love them. Since they don't come with a remote to control the power on and off I set the fans on high and purchased a couple of inexpensive switches that the cord plugs into. I don't mind not having a remote because it's just one more thing to keep up with. The fans look really nice and work great.

We put up a 12x18 aluminum gazebo (Purple Leaf) with three hanging loops at the top. We hung a fan at each end with a light in the center. The fans look great (blend well with our black/slate color gazebo), move a lot of air, hang from the gazebo loop with an included carabiner clip (super easy), and are fairly quiet even when on the high setting. Amazon asked for a review of the remote, but these do not come with a remote. We purchased a separate outdoor rated extension cord with three outlets and ran it along the edges of the gazebo so that it can reach an exterior outlet when we want to plug them in. We just set them on high so that all we have to do is plug in or out for turning them on or off. We're glad we made these a part of our outdoor experience!

We first came across this fan at Lowe's, prominently on display under a large gazebo in the outdoor furniture area. Harbor Breeze branding. We almost bought it, for $120, but we always look to Amazon before buying. We found a fan on Amazon that appeared identical but with a different foreign-sounding brand name......$85!!. We purchased it from Amazon. It arrived today, in a clean, new box from Harbor Breeze. Exact same fan.... The fan is fairly heavy and seems to be very well made. It does NOT have a remote but, oddly, it came with a nice 16' tape measure packed inside. Saw this fan and liked the reviews about the quality of the fan. I have to say it's lived up to receive the honor of 4 stars from me so far. It is well made, quiet and cord is just long enough to run along the wood board to an extension surge protector. We installed it in a Yardistry 12x14 gazebo. We still need the osculating fan but now we have the overhead flow as well which makes it great for the evening dealing with insects and those pesky mosquitos. It is esthetically pleasing and looks really neat installed. We keep it on high which makes the wind flow hard downward. Only had it a short time will update next season to see how it holds up overtime. Like everyone has said, really needed the remote for convenience being the height of our gazebo requires a ladder to adjust the speed but it summertime so HIGH is the mode for now!

Got this 4/2022, hung it up in our canvas gazebo and left it there ever since. Normally we take the gazebo down for winter but got lazy and left it up. This fan has survived bird nests, 20° daytime high temps and ridiculous wind. It’s mostly protected from the ice and rain by the gazebo, but it hangs right under the vented top that isn’t sealed and the ridiculous wind blew plenty of rain on it. It’s a decent size, smaller then I thought, which isn’t a bad thing. I wanted one that I was sure wouldn’t touch any of the canvas areas and this leaves plenty of clearance. Our 11’x11’ gazebo is really high in the center, so at the lower speeds the air has a long way to go to reach us and results in a gentle breeze effect. High speed does a good job of really getting the air moving where true relief from the NC heat can be felt (lower speeds would achieve this too in a lower/standard gazebo). I’m really impressed with how well this fan has held up through the seasons. I would for sure but again!

The Good: This stylish, durable looking and relatively quiet fan makes a huge difference and was a (ahem) breeze to install. It is currently 81 °F and humidity at 64% makes it feel more like 85 °F. With the fan on high, I am not only comfortable but even cool. The speed is high enough to keep mosquitoes from being able to fly. The Bad: The fan isn’t equipped with a remote so you will need a step ladder to change the speeds. Also, for those looking for a light, it doesn’t have one. Despite these limitations, it brings me joy.

It was easy to setup and easy to put away for the winter.

We use it in our Gazebo, works great and keeps it very cool and comfortable.

Fan needs to have a remote and the ability to be reversed. Once installed it is difficult to reach as it is used at the top of the gazebo to move or circulate the air. The controls for fan speed are I a poor spot in my opinion.

Unless your directly under it you will not feeling it
