I am addicted to this series
Very rarely does the second book rival the first but this book does that and more. I breathed in this story, invested in the characters and suffered along with them. Such is the magic this author weaves slowly drawing you in and keeping you there till the very last page. What a messed up, roef coaster ride lost loved ones, stolen innocence and cruel depraved men in power who fooled the masses into believing in them. The power of one is an amazing thing and someone believing in you can help you climb mountains or topple a dynasty of corruption. There is something for everyone, lots of blood and gore, sweet tender moments and heart stopping action. Maia is so broken yet she is unbreakable because of the people she loves and she will never stop fighting it is that kind on inspiration that sparks rebellion from within and no should underestimate the girl who survived the pit as she will be unstoppable. Book 3 needs to be here now as I desperately want to see how this story ends does Maia save the world and who will be left standing if she does. I cannot wait to find out.

YESSSS, 3RD BOOK IS CONFIRMED!!!!
I dont know where to start. I did download these books on my kindle while i was reading other books, never knowing this series will be on my top 5 list (ive read like 200 books). I downloaded it because of Kingdom of Runes by same author and i love that series too. This book takes out so many emotions. Please do this, put «one of us», by Ivan Torrent as background music and read this book. You will not exist in the real world anymore, you will become Maia. Ive been smiling and crying (literally) with her. You can feel everything she feels, the hurt, the betrayal, the love...all of it, and its lots of that. The heartpounding interactions between Maia and Riser, i just wanted to faint sometimes, wish i was Maia just because of Riser lolzz. I love the way Audrey Grey describes her male caracters, dark, feral but yet carrying some hidden light. I also loved Maias relationships with other caracters, how they started to trust her. Her feelings were my feelings, she didnt irritate me at all, i understood her, i was her, i would have the same reaction to everything. While i was reading the book i kept on checking how many pages Were left, i didnt want it to end, and then i saw this book was written in 2017, and there was no 3rd book, I panicked literally! I texted the author Audrey Grey, and to my utter shock she replied back:«Hi! Sorry for the delay. The series was with a publisher and when we parted ways, I was forced to focus on other projects. But I’m one chapter away from finishing the final book in the SF trilogy so I expect it to release hopefully sometime in April or early May. ❤️»Yaaaaaaiiiiiiiii so the 3rd book is COMING, Im sooooooooooo HAPPY!!!!!!

Incredible sequel to a great series
Stars:4.5Shadow Fall was a great book but somehow Grey stepped it up and made a sequel that surpasses it's predecessor. The writing is perfection and the characters are memorable and unique. The storyline never falters but there are layers to it that keep you engaged and turning pages. The one criticism I have is that sometimes Maia is hard to connect too. She clearly still has reconstructed memories floating around in her real personality so I suspect these moments are the Author's way of acknowledging that Maia really isn't ok or ever going to be fully ok after what she's suffered through. In many ways she reminds me of Katniss from The Hunger Games but Katniss was at least able to sleep in her own home with her sister and didn't have to fight in a pit for food on a daily basis. Katniss could roam outside and experience the joys of a breeze and sunshine, things Maia was denied while surviving The Pit. It's clear that these differences had severe impacts on Maia and she'll probably always be a little more feral and a maybe little more damaged than Katniss; at the rate this series is going she may be a lot more damaged.I already can't wait to read the next book!

One of my top 5 favorite series OF ALL TIME. Do yourself a favor and buy this!
This series is next level intense. It's Hunger Games meets Red Queen series, but set in space. What's not to love about that?! I love how vividly detailed the world is, along with each of the characters. I also love that I have no flipping clue what is going to happen next. It's not predictable, and it keeps me on my toes. I legit had to close this book at one point and pace around my house because of my anxiety. Don't confuse that with negative connotations, because that's a GOOD THING. I deeply enjoy being so connected to a story that it affects my life outside of the 8 hours I invest in the book. We're thrown right back into the story where we left off in book 1, and the action starts immediately. I think Everly/Maia really grows into who she wants to be and knows exactly where she is headed. She is fiercely determined, and will not be swayed no matter the cost. I love that determination. I also love that we have some villains that are so vile and awful you can't help but love to hate them. Truly despise with all of your heart. If you like gritty, dark, and vibrant stories that are unabashedly fearless then this series IS FOR YOU! I'm dying for book 3. Like, a dog in heat.. that's how bad I want to know the ending.

Good writing...horrible characters...
I'm split on this series. The writing is fantastic, but the characters... I don't like much. Maia is literally a glutton for punishment. This chick does not get a break! Every page is about anger and screaming, and hate and....nonsense. Riser is a robot in this book. Don't want to give any spoilers but ,the writer did not make him endearing in any way. There are a few moments when I think "why do we believe these two belong together?" He really doesn't care about her -- has the hots for her, yes -- but whenever she has a meltdown (rightfully so at times), or sacrifices herself to save the others, he doesn't seem to care - he's not there trying to save her, help her -- he just appears after the fact and teases or smirks. I don't know -- there is no goodness or light in these books -- seems evil wins at every corner. Yeah, I'm sure towards the end (yes, i refuse to finish this book at halfway thru) everything will happen for them. But when a series spends so much time in a dark place, I just can't...
