There are multiple reasons why this machine is a good choice
I did a lot of research before buying this and I'm glad I did, I have severe heyfever and this unit has helped tremendously. The reason I picked this particular purifier is: 1. It has a very effective sensor which means you can leave it on all the time and it will spin up and down automatically to remove any pollutants present as and when required. This means it's quiet and energy efficient and just gets the job done without you even knowing it's there. 2. When you turn your light out at night, it automatically goes into nighttime mode, turning off the majority of it's lights (and dimming the remaining two) whilst slowing the fan down to the point where it is virtually silent (I can't hear it anyway). 3. It has a proper carbon filter not a impregnated sheet like many other machines. 4. It's filters are in the correct sequence to get the most life out of them and it also has an easily removable, cleanable (like a tumble dryer) pre filter to protect the main HEPA and carbon filters. Many competitors omit this reducing filter life. 5. Its just the right size. Big enough to be able to run very quietly during normal operation and clear a room quickly if you had to (for example burnt toast setting off the smoke alarm) and yet not too big to be crazy expensive. The consensus seems to be if you need a more powerfull unit than this you are probably better off buying two units than a bigger single one. 6. It is properly certified and Winix have a good reputation for building solid high performance machines which are great value. The thing that stunned me the most was just how sensitive and quick reacting it is. My partner had been in the garden and walked in the room and it pretty much instantly detected the pollen coming off her clothes and ramped up for a few seconds to clear the air then span down again. If I had to say anything bad about it, it's that it doesn't have a way to run in auto mode without having nighttime detection on. Because it's so hot at the moment we are closing the curtains which is sometimes leading it to prematurely go into night mode.

If you have a medical condition..
Do not buy the smaller air filters. I have A1AD, which is basically COPD. I'm very sensitive to pollution now, both outdoors and indoors. I used to have an older 2014 model plasma wave and it's still working strong but I couldn't take it with me when I moved. Being broke from moving I decided to buy a cheap ยฃ30 air filter with apparently HEPA and carbon filter (V important). However it became noisy, and the carbon filter got saturated very fast as there wasn't much of it. Aka waste of money and my health suffered. This is expensive but, like the last one I bought, as soon as I plugged it in, fresh beautiful oderless air. I'm not sure how effective the air monitor is compared to my older model it doesn't scream red and blow like crazy when I fart or anything, kinda disappointing. But it works and the design is nicer, smaller and more user friendly when changing filter or moving it. It's also quieter. This is a top piece of equipment. Looks it and feels it. The blue light also goes off at night and you can turn off the plasmawave for germs. Practically 0 noise even on normal mode. Very pleased.

Great Product
The sleep mode is silent. It still does the job, but with my dust allergies I prefer to have it on a bit more powerful during the night. So I have it on setting 2 or 3. Setting 4s sound is not noticeable during the day but at night its probably too loud to sleep with on the full power. But even with full power, it's quieter than a floor or ceiling fan. If you choose automatic setting, which is brilliant, then at night, when you turn your lights off, its sensors pick this up and it goes to sleep mode (the machine doesn't go to sleep like a computer, it just goes to the lowest setting which is silent, plus the indication lights turn off so there's no distractions). The sensors are amazing on this machine. Red lights is when the air is bad. Then amber which is still bad in my opinion. Then it goes to blue (why not green? Lol traffic lights? Lol) . Now this is where the machine really shows how good it is. So your sat in the living room and the machine is on automatic setting, it's cycled through your dusty room and it's gone to blue. Pure air. But if you get up and walk into the kitchen, walk past it, open a door, breathe near it lol it senses it straight away and goes to amber and starts purifying again. Because the single bit of dust you've created by brushing past or treading in the carpet or opening a door , that dust has made its way to the machine within seconds. It's a really clever price of kit. It's helping me cut down on the dust in my home. And aesthetically it's very pleasing to the eye. It's a really good looking unit. It looks like you've spent a few hundred pounds on it, which you have. And it's worth every penny. I'm very happy with it.

Air purifier a danger to health & stimulates pet dander & dust mites
We had high hopes for this air purifier. My daughter was suffering from SIBO due to a gut attack from black mould infested at her school. Although we had no black mould at our home she was becoming intolerant to everything due to her gut imbalance caused by the black mould. As a precaution we purchased this air purifier after we read the good reviews on amazon. We bought 4 of them, one for each room we spent the most time in. Unfortunately my husband & I became suddenly very ill & our daughter irritable. We were constantly sneezing & we could no longer be near our pets. We had 5 rescues & could not bare the thought of rehoming them but we were experiencing a sudden reaction to them. We suffered on feeling miserable, our senses were highly irritated & we were drained of energy sneezing constantly every moment of every day. These symptoms were very sudden for us & we hoovered everyday for over ten years as a preventative way of keeping our home on top of potential allergens especially with pets. We could not understand what was happening especially because we had the air purifiers on all the time & they were constantly on blue mode for clean air except when we cooked dinner it turned to orange. It was only when the weekend arrived & we were outside for longer or in other peoples homes that the penny dropped. Our symptoms had calmed down, our bodies were healing & I was no longer choking to catch my breath repeatedly. That lurking feeling was creeping in that the new air purifiers were causing us to constantly sneeze & have breathing difficulties. I fought with my head the logic, after all there were so many good reviews, how can this be. After I was given an inhaler for asthma which I had no previous symptoms, we turned the air purifiers off for one day but honestly we were so afraid to do that still believing that these were air purifiers. Our symptoms calmed down over night but still feeling ill we reluctantly turned the air purifier off for a second day. Lord & behold after a second day our bodies were returning to normal & we knew that our sinking feeling was confirmed after spending so much money on these items. Clearly when turned on the air was circulating all the pet dander & dust instead of absorbing & purifying it. What a waste of time & money. Who ever thought air purifiers would cause an allergic reaction & asthma. This product is a danger in our experience & should not be on the market. Please stay away . We followed the instructions well, removed all plastic wrappers. If the air was so bad for us & causing such ill health the biggest puzzle was why the air purifier remained blue constantly reassuring us our air was clean. It only reacts to the sensation of steam & smoke in our experience & not dust mites & pet dander & instead stimulates these particles further. All our symptoms are now gone but we feel cheated out of money & claims that this is an air purifier but instead for us was an air polluter.

A must have product
โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ Amazing Results After 2+ Months of Use! Iโve been using this air purifier for over two months now, and I can genuinely say it has made a noticeable difference in the air quality in my home. From the first week, I noticed a reduction in dust, and the air just felt fresher and lighter. It runs very quietly, which is a huge plus โ I often forget it's even on! As someone with allergies and small children at home, I feel much more confident knowing this device is constantly working in the background to remove allergens and pollutants. Itโs also really easy to maintain โ filter changes are simple, and the design is sleek enough to fit into any room without being an eyesore. Overall, itโs a reliable, efficient, and quiet machine that delivers what it promises. Highly recommend if youโre looking to improve your indoor air quality long-term

Decent Air Purifier but filters are expensive, rare and DEFINITELY do not last 12Months!
Air purifier seems to work well enough. The big problem is the price of the replacement filters. I purchased this on the premise that the filters would last 12Months (Winix replacement filters are ยฃ70). I reckon you can get a maximum of 6months from the filters and, in reality, itโs probably less. If you smoke, there is no way these will last 12 months! Youโre probably looking at about 3months max! Also, it doesnโt help that the filters are apparently fairly difficult to get hold of. Winix are always sold out and all the 3rd party ones are either from the US or China!

strong filtration and quiet operation, but limited smart features.
The Winix Zero S Air Purifier is a mid-to-high-performance home air cleaning unit designed to handle spaces up to around 100 mยฒ, making it suitable for living rooms, bedrooms, and open-plan areas. It uses a four-stage filtration system with a pre-filter, activated carbon layer, a True HEPA filter that captures tiny particles like dust and pollen, and Winixโs PlasmaWave technology that aims to neutralise viruses and bacteria without producing harmful ozone. The unit also includes automatic mode and sleep mode features that adjust fan speed based on air quality and reduce noise and light output at night, which many users find convenient for everyday use. Air Appliances +1 On the other hand, while the Zero S generally receives positive feedback on its performance and quiet operation, there are varied user experiences regarding the accuracy of its air quality sensor and how it displays real-time readings, with some owners reporting inconsistent indicators. Like many HEPA purifiers, its effectiveness also depends on room placement and regular filter maintenance, and it doesnโt offer advanced smart integrations such as app control. Overall, itโs a capable unit for improving general indoor air quality but may not satisfy those looking for fully automated or premium smart features. reddit.com

Does what It Says
So far so good, got this from Amazon resale at half the cost of other retails, I also bought a Levoit 300S, I tested them side by side by shaking an old jumper, the Winix jumped int high mode and the Levoit nothing. The Winix wet to high and mid when the dog was jumping around, Levoit nothing again, the only way to make the Levoit do something was to spray deodorant near it as in 2 inches from the sensor or light a match and blow the smoke over the sensor, also im not sure if the Levoit is a hepa filter so needless to say the Levoit is going back courtesy of Amazons great return policy. The Winix is great looking in white, separate filter material and I believe can use either H or T filters, again I answered the door for a takeaway and the dog was running about, the Winix kicked into high and carried on till it cleared the air, my son came in the room and asked if I had the windows open as it smelled clean and fresh with no dog smell, so it must be working, hopefully it will be long lasting, I will update if not. Now I have to wait to get another Winix Zero S. tip: don't just hoover the pre filter remove the charcoal filter and hoover that along with the hepa type filter. When the lights go of they are silent and I don't hear anything really, well worth the money.

Defective fan
I did extensive research to find the most quite, medium sized air purifier and landed on this. However, on 'sleep mode' my specific one makes a tone of noise. I've resorted to running it on the first/second fan speed which I can barley tell its running at night still. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that this specific one out of a couple thousand is defected on 'sleep mode'. On the other hand overall I'm very happy with the build of this purifier, It's built to last and the filter system is extremely easy to replace/clean. Also this purifier has the washable activated carbon filter over the disposable one which is a big bonus. To top it off the design is nice and modern but not too modern so this guy should fit classic style homes, modern ones and the in-between. I would recommend this to a friend if I was compensated for the defect, allbeit I haven't chased up amazon that hard yet though.

Potential life saver
This filter informs us our air quality in Dubai is not good, we keep doors and windows closed because of it. Even when fitted in a somewhat contained corner, it still detects particles fairly quickly when the door or window is open. Also when cooking, especially oil frying, this filter indicates the particles. I believe we need 2 more throughout the house to obtain complete 'clean' air. It has a big filter with activated charcoal, but does not really remove odors from cooking or other sources.

Expected More
Pros: - not a s loud as many people say even on highest setting - removes the smell of dampness well Cons: - doesn't deal with dust as hoped. Therefore, allergies same as without it - no dehumidification I have no way to measure pollen and never smoke at home so didn't try that either
