'Afternoon Eater'
Thoroughly enjoyed this book! A real fun easy read that is perfect to take away on holiday and enjoy with a few cocktail by the pool. Full of lad humor and cheeky 80's music this novel is a cross between American Werewolf in London and Lesbian Vampire Killers (minus the vampires). Start this on a Sunday and you've eaten your afternoon with a tasty read. Looking forward to more from this author.P.S This book may get your craving a curryReview byRudi Jennings - Author of 'The Last Myon'

Very humorous
Clever writing! A cross between a Martina Cole novel and a more magical Harry Potter touch. The humour is second to none and had me in nostalgic stitches! Well worth a read

Unreadable
The primary horror in this book is the writing. Genuinely terrible.

Disappointingly poor writing
I like the idea of the witty, wink-at-you writing style but I suspect the ironic fourth wall breaks are hasty fixes to plot dead-ends and missed detail rather than knowingly witty. The publisher must take some responsibility for the errors in spelling and grammar, this is extremely low quality and I found myself unable to get into the plot due to the jump-scares created by these errors!Sorry

A different way to tell a story
Excellent reading with a twist on the story telling. It is literally as if the author is sitting there chatting to you. A very refreshing & in places funny book. Please give it a go.

Entertaining, Nostalgic Thriller.
This book has genuine laugh/smirk/snort out loud moments. The song choices brought back some nostalgic childhood memories from the eighties and the way the author interacts with the reader made this comedy horror even more enjoyable. If you get a chance to go to one of his book signings he is really friendly and generous with his time.

Frightfully funny
I loved loved this book. So well written was pulled in from the very beginning. This story starts with a brief intro to 1885 when the strange occurrence happens. Fast forward to 1985 to continue this amazing frightening fun story when a group of friends the likes you have never in wildest dreams met before. Smelly Sid, Ernie,Fatty Jock just to name a few. They embark on a holiday to Drarkland and are met with secrecy and suspicionWhat are the townspeople hiding? What is in the woods watching you? People and animals turning up dead...whatever it is this group of hilarious lunatics believe they can capture it!!! Can it be done....This novel is nothing like I have ever read before! Adding to the fun is the author's reference to 80's music!!!! Duran Duran....Hungry like a wolf......My first time reading this work by Lord Richard Carberry will not be my last! Can't wait for book 2!!!!!
