A good read and more
A good read with consistent characters and an interesting premise. I take the view that all good SF reflects the society that fathers it, this series tells the tale of post apocalypse survivors. As with all such stories it transposes people and their values as observed by the author into a changed environment but the people remain rooted in the society of today. As with Chinese SF it offers the reader who cares to look an insight into the authors perception of todays society. So look again, see how people are the same but also how different and sometimes alien they can be.

The Final Installment
Metro 2025 is the final book in the brilliant post-apocalyptic series by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky. It continues the story of Artyom, the protagonist of Metro 2033 as he desperately searches for survivors of the terrible World War 3.Artyom now has a family and is a Stalker (someone who travels to the surface of irradiated Moscow). Up top, he makes contact with survivors and tries to convince the people of the Metro that there is life for mankind up above. But no one believes him so Artyom must travel the tunnels trying to find evidence to convince the populous he is right. But along the way, he meets returning characters, Homer and Sasha from Metro 2034 who help and hinders his journey. And finally both he and the reader uncover the disturbing truth about the history of the Metro. A huge twist that was incredibly well thought out and written and was totally unexpected!!!This book is much much darker than the other two, with many scenes that demonstrate the worst of humanity, so prepare for some shocking moments! The atmosphere created by Glukhovsky is incredibly tense and draws you in page by page into Artyom's perilous life story.Plus this is the illustrated version, which makes it all the better! The pictures are gorgeous giving us a brief insight into the world of Metro. Just to note, Metro 2033 and 2034 do have illustrated versions that match this one but they are hard to track down (especially in the UK) because of being American first printings. But with perseverance, you should be able to have a matching set of books. My only bugbear is the layout of the words, it's a bit on the dodgy side, sometimes space will be forgotten between words or something is needlessly capitalized but either way, I never found it to distract or discourage my reading of Metro 2035.An incredible finally to a fantastic book series!! I love so much and they maybe have rocketed to the top of my favourites list!! I highly recommend this and the other two books, go read them now and enjoy!!!

Fantastic story
The story is great and weighty. I enjoyed the prior two and the video games. Just a side note, if you have read the trade paper backs prior this book is larger and heavier with some illustrations. It feels a little less manageable lying in bed but fine for on the couch or at the desk

Fan of the Metro computer games and a now a fan of all the Metro books.
Art is subjective that being said I am a fan of the Metro computer games. So I was curious about the material adapted from the books to the games and happy to support the author. I wouldn't of got the fun and interesting games without the books source material. The books are obviously deeper experiences. No spoilers for the final book. Like early on Metro 2033 the first novel you find out the main characters backstory as a child. Not even mentioned once in the game. Purchased all three books during the lockdowns. Not read a book in years until the lockdowns. So thanks for getting my reading bug going again was a interesting series of books.

A satisfying last stop on the metro line
I gave the book a five star rating because it was everything that I wanted it to be. The metro was a dark grimy place where the dregs of Moscow survived a nuclear holocaust. This book convinced me of that made me feel for the characters and even try to understand some of . It is a good book that made me think. It had twists turns and at the last stopover fitting conclusion. A very metro ending.

the translation is not that good.
having read the books in french and Russian, I can say with confidence that the translation here isn't up to my standards. this is also partially due to how deep the story is anchored in Russian culture. I am bilingual and it took me a long while to realize what some of the names actually were.also, this is by far the weakest book of the trilogy. it lacks of that imminent danger and claustrophobic feeling that the other books had.

Got the Polish version by mistake, but the book is worth a read!
Got this for a friend, that is very much into the whole post-apocalyptic scene, with a mix of science fiction.Unfortunately, we didn't notice that it was the Polish version, so we sent it back and reordered the English version. The book is set Moscow, Russia, inside the Metro, where people are surviving from the blast of a world nuclear disaster. He enjoyed reading the books, and sped through the whole series like a man on a mission. Definitely recommends if this is your kind of read.
