A Game-Changer for Artists and Creators!
The Slice Craft Knife feels like an extension of my hand — it's absolutely magical for drawing, sketching, and precision work. The fine ceramic blade glides so smoothly it’s almost like sketching with a whisper. I can create delicate lines, sharp angles, and intricate shapes with total confidence. It’s beautifully balanced, super comfortable to hold, and gives me complete control over every movement, just like a favorite drawing pen. Plus, the blade stays sharp and clean far longer than any metal knife I’ve used, making the creative process feel effortless. This isn’t just a craft knife — it’s a true artist’s tool. If you love working with detail, you need this in your toolkit. It brings ideas to life with such grace!

Feels Nice & Cuts Well (With Some Caveats)
The handle really feels nice, not too fat, not too skinny and well balanced. Paper, vinyl and leather all cut very well. It’s entirely possible that it’s the best leather cutting knife I’ve ever used. It also cuts wooden veneers extremely well, even cross grain cuts are clean and it follows the cut line very well. I am a professional conservator of antique furniture and veneers are a big part of my life. This knife definitely has a permanent home in my toolchest. The caveats: It won’t cut unsupported material (material not laying on something else) it just slides across it. You can’t scrape with it. Scraping excess glue and other stuff off of furniture is a daily operation for me and this blade won’t do it (not for long anyway). The edge chips away quickly. There is a sharp point on the blade, but it’s not in the same place as a #11 blade. In use that makes it feel weird if you’ve spent a lifetime using #11 blades, so you have to get used to that. Overall I like the knife. I think the blades are too expensive, but they are worth it. In the situations where this works it really works well. But it’s not a viable replacement for a regular X-Acto. You need both.

No more cuts to bandage!!!
While I would not allow a child under 9 or 10 to use this, it's safe for the rest of us. I am terrified of Xacto knives because they are really sharp and have that point tip. I am not particularly clumsy, but I don't take chances when I can sense the impending bloodshed about to happen. So I got this lovely little safe thing. You will not cut yourself with it if you try, but it is great for opening envelopes, boxes, packages, and scoring paper. I also use it for details on sketches, knowing the sketch will survive, and so will I. Years ago I cut myself badly with an Xacto, accidentally, and that was enough!!! Then I found these. This is not my first purchase. It will not be my last. I try to have one in the carry-alls for each of my separate projects. These are safe. No ER visits with these, unless you do something waaaaay on the thin edge of the bell curve of potential accidents. EDIT: Uh, it will not cut your finger, but it will papercut the back of your hand. Thin skin can be cut, so keep that in mind. It is after all a type of knife.

Love it.
This thing is pretty awesome. I've always had x-acto's and while those will always be a part of my tools, I think Slice products might have to join that list. I keep trying to figure out how this compares to an x-acto. . Are they better or worse than x-acto? No. . Are they pretty much the same product? . . yes and no. . Do I prefer one over the other? Not really. . Are they different? . . Yes. . They both cut really well but I think the main difference (other than the slice being ceramic) is that the tip isn't pointy. I guess if I HAD to pick one thing I like better? It's that. . My x-acto knives are always losing their tips, so really x-acto might as well make their blades with a rounded tip lol. I haven't had this slice long enough to tell but I do believe it may last longer than one of my x-acto blades just for that reason alone. All in all, the Slice is a nice comfortable cutting pen. It performs really well and has earned a permanent spot amongst my 'must haves'.

Perfect for arts and crafts, safe blade.
The blade feels thicker/duller than a metal blade, but it cuts just fine. I believe that's the whole ideal about having a safe cutting tool. A lovely tool that's perfect for carving, slicing, or trimming plastic, rubber, foam, and more with ultimate precision. Perfect craft tool for graphic artists, designers and arts and crafts applications – scrapbooking, model kits, and more. I bought this to create party favors and cutout a "photo frame" that people could use in a photo booth. As well as the the curved blade so I could be more precise in my cuts.Used with Slice 10520 Craft Blades, Fits Most Craft Handle Knives, Ceramic Blade, 4-Pack, White They not only function well but cut safely. I don't have to worry about cutting my fingers or accidents as much as a metal blade. Well thought out.

Good Craft Cutter, with a few flaws
I really like Slice. They have a great mission, and I've purchased two of their box cutters. I really looked forward to their Craft Cutter, but I noticed a few things right off the bat. First of all, the positives: + Good Grip The metal housing provides a great gripping surface + Weight It's lightweight compared to exacto-craft knives. This could be especially handy if you're working on a craft that will take a long time, helping prevent or delay hand fatigue. + Non-roll Design I like that it doesn't roll on the table when set down. Now on to the drawbacks. - Non-pointed Tip I really wish the tip were much more of a fine point than it is. The sharp, pointed tip is what gives an exacto craft cutting knife an edge here (or er, point). Could a ceramic blade chip if it's too thin at it's point? Not sure, but it would be nice to have for very detailed work. - The cap The cap could be better designed. When placed, the blade end of the blade actually touched the inside top of the cap. The cap doesn't lock into place, so if you twist the cap around, you could potentially damage the blade. - Cutting It cuts okay. I thought it'd be fantastic, but was a little disappointed. The plus side is that it will last a lot longer than a steel blade, though. -- Conclusion -- It's a great craft cutter. If you can get past the few drawbacks.

Eccezionale
Eccezionale. La uso per scratchbord: è perfetta, non si usura ed ha una punta che mi consente di fare segni sottilissimi. Per ora il miglio strumento mai utilizzato... tra l’altro estremamente maneggevole.

Bonito y practico
Estilo muy bonito, muy elegante y a buen precio. Recambios algo caros. La cuchilla es muy frágil al ser de cerámica, hay que tratar con cuidado.

Must have tool for artists
I do coloured pencil animals and this is so good for taking off some of the pigment to create highlights and fur strokes. I like this one because it’s much easier to hold than another one I have. So much safer than using a metal blade.
