Great Knives Without Spending a Fortune!
Great knife set! I have followed Andrew (Babish) for years and I just recently started a job in a kitchen and decided Iโd like to get myself a knife kit started. But, theyโre all so expensive! Not this set though! $20/knife and a roll bag to go with it!? The other chefs at work also like the look and feel of the knives and were also surprised when I told them I only spent $60! Extremely sharp right off the bat! So be careful there! I brought them home and cleaned them after work and it looks like I havenโt even used them! Very easy to clean. Very comfortable handgrips as well and the size is perfect. Functions very well and compares very closely to our dalstrong knives!

Best knives for the price
I saw a video online where a guy took a number of the "best" knives and put them through a lot of scientific testing for quite a few parameters. The Babish came out as second best and at a price a fraction of number one. This set made them an even better deal. The minute I unboxed them, I was impressed. The weight and balance are impressive. Out of the box, they are incredibly sharp. The canvas bag is great for keeping them together and all have tip guards. These three knives cover about all missions.

Good knives for any home cook
These are the best knives I've owned as an adult. I am not a chef. I cook meals for my family, so take that as you will. I use the chef knife almost every day, for almost all tasks. They're very comfortable to hold and use. They are sturdy and heavy, but in a high quality way. Not so heavy that they feel unwieldy. The little paring knife is my least used out of this set, but I don't do much small and detailed cutting. Using it has been a pleasure, as the blade and handle are well balanced. The Babish bread knife is THE BEST BREAD KNIFE I have ever used, hands down. Actually slices through bread, whether it's stale and tough, or freshly toasted. Leaves behind minimal crumbs. Every other bread knife I've ever used just shredded the bread to pieces. This is a total game changer! These knives are very sharp just out of the box, you've been warned! PSA: BE VERY CAREFUL washing these, so you don't cut yourself.I have purchased the Babish Santoku knife separately, and I use it interchangeably with my chef knife almost every day. I was just gifted the Babish Clef knife--I'm very excited to try it out this fall season on some tough squash and pumpkin. I bought an adjustable knife sharpener/honer to keep these beauties working well for me for years to come. These would make an excellent gift.

Cut off the tip of my thumb! Great knife!
Got my first sous chef job and decided it was time to buy my own knifes and stop using the work ones, came to an obvious decision to buy this set since Iโve been a HUGE fan of his show for many years. They are fantastic and there is nothing I could write to properly convey how highly I think of them. They work wonderful for all my kitchen needs, Iโm even planning on coming back for seconds to purchase the boning knife. Side note: I also cut the entire tip of my thumb off with the chef knife by accident, and I couldnโt even be mad. Cut that thing off like butter.

Best option at this price
These are not the best knives on the market and I think thatโs kind of the point. These are good quality functional knives that are a great starting point for someone. They come surprisingly sharp so handle with care right out of the box. The 3 pack (chef, bread, pairing) is perfect to get started cooking, or if you just have a smaller kitchen and donโt want to store a block on the counter. The handles feel nice and the full tang design paired with good steel means you donโt have to worry about the blade snapping off like so many other knives in this price bracket. The knife roll is a great addition as it provides a safe storage option so no one is reaching into a drawer and coming out with a cut hand.

Knives good! Knife roll, hmmmm....
The knives have a nice weight to them and are easy to grip. For someone who is a non-professional cook I find them much sharper than the ones I currently have which is already such an upgrade. Only time will tell if they are really up to par but for now Iโm quite happy with them. The knife roll on the other hand had much to be desired, you can tell it was a bit haphazardly made, threads that werenโt quite finished, flecks of thread and fabric coated the roll which even after a nice shake still clung on... The most perplexing piece was one of the Velcroโs sewn on was not even a match (no fuzzy part to match the Velcro part), so it couldnโt even stick together.Ultimately I didnโt purchase it for the knife roll, but rather the knives. So overall Iโm still quite content. Hopefully this is a fair heads up to anyone wondering about the knife roll option.

Passionately believe that these are phenomenal knives.
This knife (I'm specifically keeping the full size western style one in mind for this review) knows exactly what its purpose is and extremely impressive for the price. This is an affordable knife set whose n. 1 purpose is to get garbage cheaply mass-produced knives out of peoples hands and give them a real chefs tool. The knives are weighty, well balanced, *confidence inducing,* and will probably only rust if you have no idea how to care for steel, and a word on the steel.. 1.4116 or whatever its called should by all means be a low tier steel, that's at least the impression you get as a knife nerd who genuinely watches Larrin Thomas videos for entertainment by looking at graphs of hardness vs edge retention, and I was disappointed by how bad it looked, but keep in mind that n.1 purpose, to be a bridge between dumpster tier knives and deliver a *real knife* to as many people as possible without getting pricey enough to get diminishing returns for that n.1 goal. Something about the way they handle this steel, the 1.4116 is just a treat to work with. It takes a keen edge incredibly well, and while knife sharpening is never easy per se, this is the least intimidating knife I have ever sharpened. Our household has 3 proper cooked meals every week and has had that consistently for years, and with that it can still take about a month on the low end for a knife sharpening to be required, and keep in mind the wetting of the whetstone takes longer than actually sharpening the blade, its that stupidly effortless for someone who's sharpened before (our whetstone is 1000/6000 grit, about 60$). The geometry of the knife is also phenomenal, very thin and slicey, I actually think a recent Outdoors55 video confirmed a lot of my biases on this knife and was pleased with how he ranked it too. This knife excels in every way and I am not kidding, the way it was optimized really does make this punch so much higher than its price range, low tier steel? Its a kitchen knife buddy, it needs to be rust resistant and take a good edge. Soft steel? Yeah, our knifes have bent tips, good thing its a KITCHEN KNIFE, not a bushcraft knife, know what your priorities are.The designers of this knife really knew exactly W.T.F they were doing. P.S. I had to get stitches from the paring knife! Healed up beautifully, goes to show how well these take an edge and how complacent I got only ever using dull knives, use your knives smartly!
