Hard to find, but well worth the search
SUMMARY:The LeapFrog Fridge Farm Magnetic Animal Set is a fun, clever, well rounded toy. My 1 1/2 year old enjoys playing with it everday. This is typically the 1st toy she navigates toward after breakfast every morning. It plays upbeat, clear, great sounding music, with adjustable volume levels. The toy has some humor built-in when the animal magnets do not match, and is rewarding when they do match. A great addition to my toddler's toy collection.MUSIC:Press the chicken at the top of the barn, and music is played. The music actually sounds pretty clear and the volume has 2 loudness levels. Gives my daughter dancing feet everytime.MAGNETS:Each of the animal magnets come in a pair, one for the front half of the animal and another for the back half. A child places a magnet pair in the barn door opening. When the child presses either magnet pair half, and if the pair makes a match, a song plays that congratulates your child for matching the animal magnet pairs and the animal sound is played, moo for cow, neigh for horse, etc...If your child does not make a match, say front half is cow and back half is duck, then a song still plays and tells your child what each magnet half corresponds to which animal and both animal sounds are played. This is pretty funny and clever. Kudos to LeapFrog for including this feature.PORTABILITY:Another great feature is the barn sticks to a metal surface using a magnet as well, and it is light with a nicely rounded handle so your child can carry it with them if they want to place it elsewhere or just play some music.DRAWBACK:The only negative I can think of for this toy is the magnets are a bit hard to remove once placed in the barn door opening since they stick so well. This is probably only an issue with less than 12 month old children with weaker hands or adults with larger fingers. A 12+ month old child will probably not have any issue after the first few of minutes playing with the toy. My 1 1/2 year old easily removes the magnets.

Another hit from LeapFrog!
The LeapFrog Fridge Farm is a neat magnetic toy for kids that are a little too young for magnetic letters, & features fun animals, colors, simple facts, & matching. Like other reviewers have mentioned, I love that it doesn't admonish kids for exploring non-matching pairs, instead getting them to giggle about funny combos like a 'duck-pig' or 'sheep-cow', with a song. When the animal does match, it sings another song & plays the right animal noise. I also appreciate that the noises are real, & not goofy imitations - we have other toys which only play imitations, with some that make no sense (ie. 'the dolphin says chirp chirp!'). The animal facts (ie, 'cows make milk', 'a baby pig is called a piglet', 'ducks have webbed feet', etc) are all simple to explain to young kids, & are unique. My son is 10 months old, a little under the 12 month recommendation, but he still gets a kick out of smacking at the animal parts or Farmer Chick to get a noisy response. However, its never annoying, as it very appreciably includes volume & on/off control. These days, ALL toys should have both, for parents sanity! He hasn't gotten the hang of removing & replacing the animal parts, but the pieces are chunky & easy to grab for little hands. The barn itself is also easy to grab & throw, which my son has done several times, to no effect on the toy! I applaud LeapFrog on making an electronic toy that is also plenty durable. My only complaints are very minor - the package claims that you can store the animal pieces on the back of the barn, which in my opinion, you cannot. The magnets will stick to the magnets on the back, but not very well, & only four of the ten will actually fit. This toy is best stuck to the fridge & left there. All in all, this is a really neat, non-annoying educational toy which has impressed & charmed me, my son, & our mom & kid friends!

Excellent Toy!
We are huge fans of Leap Frog toys at our house. We bought this toy for our daughter's 1st b-day. She dances to the music and likes playing with the pieces. She just turned 1 on 9/28 so she is a little young yet when it comes to matching the animals and placing them in the barn. She can get 1 piece in but that is it. She still has a great time with it. We love the magnets on it, they seem to be strong enough so it doesn't slide down the fridge. I am able to clean up the kitchen while she plays, which is a blessing in it's self. The songs are cute and we are not worried about her choking on any of the pieces since they are not too small. Also, the toy still gives positive feedback to the kids even if the animals are not matched correctly. Instead of saying, "oops try again", like some other toys. Our 8 yr. old daughter secretly enjoys playing with it as well. I think she just likes mismatching the animals to hear what it will be called. (pig cow, sheep duck, etc.)This toy is great for 1 yr, olds but most likely they won't be able to match them until about 18 mo. or older. In my opinion, practice makes perfect and the younger kids will still enjoy it. I highly recommend this toy! Great job Leap Frog and Amazon. (Amazon does an awesome job with timely shipping)
