First and foremost, I do like this bread keeper. Looks nice and seals well with snaps on the bottom. But, as for the claims of it being airtight I don’t see how that can be true. Why? Because, where the oval shaped handles on top fit into the lid and allow you to lay the handles flat, the way that the ends of the handles are secured is via one hole on each end of plastic handle To allow swivel up action. So, not airtight. Strictly speaking!

I ordered this because I wanted a way to keep the sandwich bread I make fresh without wastefully using new ziplock bags every time, unfortunately this is not at all air tight so it's fine for transporting bread or loaves, but not good for actually keeping it fresh. The way the handles are attached air easily flows through the holes and bread gets stale/moldy quickly.

After years of searching, I finally found something good for tortes. I used an awkward large storage container before this. I do wish it were still a bit wider as I can only put on a thin layer of frosting on the two long sides--but this is a bit wider than the usual bread container and goes straight up and down so that the rectangular cake layers can be stacked up.

I make my own sandwich bread for my large family, sometimes the bread over proofs or rises faster than anticipated and spills over the top of the loaf pan. If that happens it will not fit in this container and must go in a ziplock unless I feel like disfiguring my bread

Really like the containers but received one with a crack in the plastic base. Great size for use with breadmaker size loaves of bread and for pre-packaged bread from the market. Plan to use plastic wield to repair.
