Good replacement for a cj7 time will tell how it will last but it comes with everything needed from the steering shaft out!

Fit and finish is good, had to clearance the steering wheel to steering column trim ring a little, maybe took 5 minutes with a file. Just a small bump in the road compared to all the other items which pop up if you have and work on a Jeep.

Open the box, initial impression was "a nice steering wheel, great", try to fit it... all the splines were damaged or badly made, so the wheel was useless. Shoddy manufacturing? Just the usual aftermarket problems of "hit or miss" quality these days. Better to buy important, safety related, durability required items such as this from an actual brick and mortar store (good luck) where you can at least check the quality of items in real life. Returned it, which went smoothly and easily so no complaints there just a shame I had to return it at all. Ended up buying a used factory OE wheel off eBay, which was proper quality and fit perfectly. Not the first thing I have bought from Omix or Crown for my CJ7, all of it has been poor quality, but they are the only options. Try and buy true OE stuff. All the hazards and compromises of "repro" parts in one Amazon free delivery box, easy, convenient and ultimately time wasting. This sort of junk isn't even disappointing anymore, because it is what is expected. Depressing.

Metal feels rough. But looks good

The steering wheel fits perfectly, unfortunately it is not complete. On the top of the wheel about a 1 1/2 inch gap to the horn pad needs a fill in part and I have no idea how to get it. Please let me know how I can get this piece to finish the installation.

Great replacement.

The wheel looks great. Everything is exactly the same as my original. Except the taper on the inside of the mounting hole. It is too deep. That means the wheel gets pulled into the steering column too far. As mentioned in another review, you may have to clearance the plastic trim ring where it meets the column. In my case, I would have to remove 1/4” of the trim ring. This is likely due to age and variance in the column shaft taper. I wish it fit perfect out of the box. In my case, it did not.

Surprisingly identical to my original 83 cj7 steering wheel. The quality is great. Real metal and proper welds for a drop in replacement. Not a cheap knock off or "modern" look. In fact nobody noticed I replaced mine. That's perfect. You will need a steering wheel puller for about $15 to remove the old one. Try to mark the spline on the steering column where the top is so that you can install the new one properly. Even a rotation off by a spline or two will mean the steering wheel will be off center when you're driving straight down the road. The main reason I replaced mine was the old one made my hands dirty every drive no matter how much I tried to clean it. The old materials were over 30 years old and degrading. New one feels very solid. No more black hands ! Comes with steering wheel, backing plate and horn mechanism. All identical to the original. No cheap redesign.
