Works great battery life is great

The light is very bright. I am not a big fan of the 3 strap head lamps. I bought it for the rechargeable feature which is not that great. After a couple weeks I started having problems with the light just shutting off even with the LEDs indicating a full charge. I finally discovered that from removing and reinstalling the battery and whatever the +side nipple was getting pushed in this not completing the electrical connection. So I put a piece of foam on back of battery to tighten the connection. My favorite is sti their 2760 model.

I purchased this light and used it only a few times before returning it. The light itself is great...lightweight for having a separate battery pac and the brightest headlamp i have ever seen. I would expect it to not last very long between charges as it is very bright. After it was initially charged the battery lasted a few hours which I expected. The charge time is EXTREMELY long.....about 8 hours or more, which in itself is ridiculous for a product like this....so I bought a spare battery. Before the battery arrived , the light started only lasting for 15 minutes between charges which was not any where near the first few uses. I charged it several times and would only get 10-15 mins of use time between 8 hour charges so maybe the battery was defective or the light itself. I bought this light to use and needs to last at least several hours before needing a charge. Rather than take a chance on this product i decided to return it as I need something that is going to be reliable....this Pelican light surprised me that it is not.For such an expensive product, Pelican should make sure the product stands up to Pelican standards , as most of their products do....I'd pass on this one.

Battery mount needs options, too heavy for the headband in many situations. Regardless, the brightest setting is awesome.

BATTERY NEVER LASTED EVEN WHEN HEADLAMP WAS IN THE OFF POSITION OR DISCONNECTED. THIS BATTERY DESIGN IS UNIQUE TO THE PELICAN 2780R HEADLAMP, WHICH MAKES IT HIGHLY DEPENDABLE TO THE PELICAN BRAND. I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND PURCHASING THIS PRODUCT..!

Broke within several months of twice a week use. The on/off knob broke and the click angle adjustment piece broke. It is however still useable but the battery only lasts me two hours after charging it for 8. Very disappointed. Definitely not the typical Pelican quality I'm used to.

This light is terrible!Got it in the mail not more than two hours ago and already I don't like it.-Very plasticky feel to the product.-The battery is a proprietary unit - it is NOT your typical 18650 battery and CANNOT be charged in your typical charger. It is a bit larger than an 18650 and both positive and negative terminals are on the same side of the batt.-Light is relatively weak for todays standards and the spot light is very narrow.-The strap is permanently attached to the unit so you will have a hard time fitting it to hard hat adapters or other straps without cutting the OEM strap.-The cable running from the battery unit to the light is too short for hard hat mounting. It fits but it will be stretched taught to its max.-The charger is built into the battery caddy so the caddy must be removed from the unit for charging. Doing so exposes several metal battery leads which looks to me to be an electrical hazard.-The controls and tilting mechanism feel very cheap and delicate.Overall I do not expect this unit to last very long or to provide any reliable use.
