Material in the sock snags a hole too easy

Simply put...Super comfy... super stinky. I am going back to merino wool socks for my work boots. On feet 10 hours a day. I would have returned them if it didn’t cost me almost as much as a pair of socks to send them back. They seem to be well made, so I imagine I’ll have them for some time.

I have probably around 20 pairs of these socks. I bought my 5 pairs over 8 years ago. I bought them for work to wear in boots. I've worn them every single work day, 5 days a week for 12 hours a day and I've yet to throw a pair away. The very first pair I bought is still just as good as the day I bought them. They dont stretch out and they dont wear out. No holes in the heals and no holes in the toes. They are very thick which is why I originally purchased them but they are all holding up great.

After reading all the positive reviews I decided to buy a couple of pair of these socks. I like the fact that they are a thick sock which is good for warmth and foot cushioning. The major drawback for me is the fact that these socks do not stay up on your calf. I can't stand socks that droop down your leg in a short period of time after putting them on. Bought the Dickies version and while they are not as padded as the Fox River they stay up on your leg and for me that's important

These are the socks I have found which I dislike *least*: the "Fox River Wick Dry Socks for Men Extra Cushioned Mid Calf Boot Socks". They are the ONLY socks I have bought in the past year that say "mid-calf" or "boot socks" and actually ARE mid-calf. Literally every other sock I have bought that said "boot sock" or "mid-calf" (dozens of them, at his point) has been a crew sock (that, or they have been as thin as Saran Wrap). Crew socks, for those who wonder, are not "mid-calf" -- they come up TO the calf, and then stop. Boot socks, aka mid-calf socks, come mid-way up the calf. I think the Fox River Wick Dry Socks for Men Extra Cushioned Mid Calf Boot Socks are stupidly expensive for a pair of synthetic socks (they are not even cotton). They cost about 10 times what *I* think a pair of synthetic socks should cost. But you wear the socks you have, not the socks you wish you had. I do not know why it has become impossible to find a simple pair of thick, plain, black, mid-calf cotton socks. Literally every pair I have bought in the past year (other than these) has been too short, or too thin, or both.
