Is the cost worth it? Yes. An overseas screwdriver will usually get the same job done, just might not last as long. But an overseas locking pliers will NOT get the same job done as these pliers. With Malco you are paying for pliers that do things to a degree no other cheaper tool can do. It is essentially a different tool than the cheaper versions because it can handle so much more clamping pressure and its bite strength is so much greater. You can't purchase a cheapo version of this that just wears out quicker. When I use locking pliers, it's usually an emergency situation, which means I need the clamping pressure and bite. I've broken many of the overseas locking pliers, it's frustrating. I couldn't find a good set of locking pliers that would last so I'm thankful to have found these!! The point of failure on other brands is often the tail screw or the metal around the tail screw. Malco's screw is beefy and the area around the screw is reinforced. It also has the ability to use a hex key to turn. I've already twisted off the heads of other brands, but Malco's is a solid piece of quality metal. I'm not worried about any failures there. Be aware that the opening on the LP10WC (2.5 in) is wider than the opening on the LP10R (2 in). Also, the LP10WC length when fully open is just a tad longer as the picture shows. Only improvement might be to make them less slick/shiny for a better grip. Might lower manufacturing costs too. FYI - The little brown spot on the pictures around the pivot is not rust but oil. Finnaly found one made in USA, I usually do reviews after use but this one I already saw what can do. It’s perfect, shiny, sturdy well built so nice looking that id be even sorry to use lol. But this is what tools are made for, had long time two Of these pliers but different brands, one made in USA and another made in Brazil, i ve beaten those plier for so many years after it being used before and also beaten for like 40 plus years and never broke,were the kinda of pliers id use for last option resource and it never let me down. Since i lost those i never got a plier to Last a job and never got to help solve issues. Always made in china, but not cheap ones, was the American brands who doesn’t make anymore, like big ones. They just order from China and stamp their brands, many times already comes stamped from China. Different of what many believe. These American brands doesn’t have any factories in china, heck no, they just contact chinese machinists to Make the tools based on drawings and measurements and many times it’s already made,’many other brands buy the same lots, it is just shipped to USA with different stamps. So this why you can see so many china junk here on amazon, and you can also check on those chinese shopping apps and ebay that is the same products you just buying from Amazon and having it delivered quickly to you instead wait for a month. On ebay some they actually has warehouses in USA with their china junk. Shame on amazon for letting china take over and shame on us for keep buying from Amazon. At least this one product i got is PROUDLY made in USA. And American company.

These are not only the finest locking pliers ever made, they may be the finest made tool I have ever seen. The jaws are perfectly aligned, the chrome is flawless and deep, the stampings in the forgings are crisp and clear, the machining is so precise the teeth in the jaws are as sharp as a razor, the braised on portion has no visible flaws in its attachment, the thumb screw has perfect knurling and the allen socket deep and well formed, the additional collar for strength around the thumb screw looks like it was machined (I believe it it is clamped and welded). I looked at them for a good 10 minutes to find anything that was not perfect and found nothing. Brand them Hazet, Stahlwille, or Snap-On no one would question it — by the way, Snap-On does rebrand them, they are that well made. But all that is just fluff, do they work? ABSOLUTELY I had an internal hex bolt on a starter that the internal hex turned into a circle. This is on a 27 year old truck and had never been off before. I tried a bolt biter on the outside and it rounded off the outside too (and stripped the bolt biter — this is a hardened bolt). I looked at my shiny new Malco eagle grips, grabbed a breaker bar with an allen socket, clamped on the outside of the now perfectly smooth and round bolt, cranked down on the allen socket with the breaker bar to lock them on tight, and pulled as hard as I could (I am not a small person). The eagle grips bit into the bolt, no slip, and popped it off. With the amount of force I needed to use I figured I did some damage to them so I did a full inspection after I wiped the oil off (did I mention this bolt was covered in old oil residue?). I thought for sure there would be some wear on the jaws. Nope. None. Still so sharp they will cut paper. It must have distorted the jaws, right? Nope. Still perfectly aligned. Rivet loosened up somewhere? Nope. Tight as a drum. Collar for the thumb screw pulled out after being subjected to a breaker bar allen socket? Nope. It same as it was when I started. Ran in and out by hand and it was smooth as silk. I was stunned. I immediately ordered another set (both 7in styles, and both 10in styles) and some of the locking clamps. I have every locking plier anyone has ever said is good and others are good, particularly the Austrian Gedore ones which are excellent. I am not comparing these to chinese made junk like the new vise-grips, I am comparing to Gedore, Knipex (who makes other German brand ones too), USA made vise-grips, old USA craftsman, etc. I work on rusty, oil covered, old junk. I know locking pliers. Bar none, the Malco eagle grip are THE BEST.

You can buy a similar pair of locking pliers for over 20% less . But if they slip in use, that's a very expensive (useless) tool. So these are good value if you need ultimate grip. The cumulative value of the premium features means these pliers will function when premium imported pliers fail. I usually buy German or Japanese tools but these are better than Knipex imho. If only American brands would focus on premium features instead of low-price competition ...! Best part is you get "Snap-On" quality for a "Craftsman" tool price. And they are nice and shiny too .

These are really nice. They feel like the old vintage ones, back when they were made well. These look to be machined very well. The screw turns easily and they have good polish on them. I don't use vice grips a lot but when I need them, I need a strong grip that bites in. I had some cheap ones and they just didn't grip. A friend used a set like these, and they worked (unlike mine), so I ordered them. Certain tools you can cheap put on, others you cant. These are worth the extra cost because you know you can rely on them

I bought these as a blind buy after watching The Project Farm YouTube channel where a bunch of locking pliers were pitted against each other. The Malco locking pliers are definitely worth the money. I threw 2 almost new sets of Crescent locking pliers into the bin due to the fact that these Malco's are what they claim to be "Committed To Quality". Don't buy anything else, but these you wont be sorry.

Sehr gute Gripzange. Die allgemeine Verarbeitungsqualität, die vergleichsweise engen Toleranzen und die Griffstärke dieser Zangen sind vermutlich die besten aller ähnlichen Serienprodukte. Der vergleichsweise hohe Preis von etwa 50€ scheint mir völlig gerechtfertigt zu sein.
