Yes, there's a little red plastic slip case with a clear plastic covering

Q: Are the photos still wrong as pointed out by Bob on June 23, 2016, or has the product been corrected?

As of 2/22/2017 the photos are WRONG according to TechSupport@mitutoyo.com. The item that actually ships, says on it "MADE IN JAPAN", and has separate 1-5 numbers for the top and bottom edge. Meaning if you want to change "Graduations" you must flip the ruler around in order to have "zero" on the left. The shipping ruler is like the photos supplied by Bob on June 23, 2016.
