Not brown or even dark brown. I returned it I think paid returned shipping.

I give this product a 4 out of 5 stars because there was a small chip on one of the draws and only the top lid closes instead of the whole thing. You have to look real close to notice the chip. Other from that I love this product. It even smells like it was made from real wood instead of having a weird chemical smell. At first I was a bit worried when I purchase it because I have read some of the other customers' reviews and they were saying that some of the draws were broken but mine came with only a small chip on it.

I love it! It's cute practical and made beautifully. This chest reminds me of the jewelry chests made by Bombay and co with the style and quality except it's at a much better price.Everything that I had in my old ugly jewelry chest fit nicely in here and it adds style to my bedroom. I would highly recommend.

I bought this jewelry box for my wife and she absolutely loves it! Its very sturdy and well built and has plenty of room for everything including necklaces. The mirror opens up to 90 degrees so unless it is at eye level its pretty useless but I suspect that non many women use that mirror anyway. I chose this one over some others because of the option to lock it. However, only the top compartment under the mirror locks. The drawers and necklace doors still come open. Overall my wife is very pleased and I would recommend it to others.

I like the look of this jewelry box (black with faux pewter knobs and sueded inserts in a light cream color) but I'm disappointed that only the very top compartment locks. I assumed all of the drawers and the side compartments would be locked. also, the description implies that every drawer is broken down into 4 compartments, but that's not true. only the very top compartment comes with a divider to make 4 small compartments. the rest of the drawers are not divided, which really limits how much jewelry you can put in them without risking everything getting tangled. the very bottom drawer is for rings. I do like the 2 big side compartments for hanging up necklaces.
