Bargain for the buck!
The selection is amazing, the mastering varies a bit and some songs are mistitled. The stereo selections and there aren't that many, are a bit quiet and the song "This Time Of The Year" by Brook Benton is the 1980's re-recording and not the original which is my favorite and sounds exactly like "Ole Santa" which is here, well mastered and mistakingly credited to Dinah Shore when it's Dinah Washington. A glaring mistake is the Connie Francis' "Baby's First Christmas" when it's Nat King Cole's "My Little Tree." All of Nat's songs are early mono and they sound amazing with the exception "The Christmas Song" it's a noisy transfer and given the digitation of Nat's entire catalog using this analog source is inexcusable. The Andrews Sisters never sounded better and Frank Sinatra's songs well, the mono early stuff is great. I'm crazy for traditional Christmas music and overall this set really delivers and if you're importing this to your desktop to create a MP3 playlist the mistakes are easily correctable

Some are good, some not so much so
This is a unique compilation of holiday songs. Many I have not heard in years. Some are good, some not so much so. What I found disappointing is that the recording quality is pretty low. Most if not all of the songs are recorded in MONO or simple stereo. In my car, that means it all plays out of the center speaker, which is annoying. It also gives the recordings a very tinny sound, as others have referred to as annoying beyond measure. In some songs, the bells ringing literally leaves a ringing in the ears due to the "tinny sound." I found myself cringing my shoulders on a couple of the songs. On the flip side, hearing the old recordings brought back many happy memories of listening to the radio while sitting around the Christmas tree. It is worth adding to the collection, just to have the old recordings. They are from a simpler time before all of the guitar and drums of today's versions. There is a lot of Big Band and harmony in this collection.

How on Earth can anybody sell 100 Christmas carols for this price!
I purchased this collection of Christmas music quite sometime ago. But it was after the Christmas season. I thought about putting the collection away until the next Christmas season. But I decided to listen to it right there and then. The music is so beautiful. After the first few songs; I was right back into the wonderful, feelings of Christmas all over again. The collection contains all the old favorites, many modern songs, and there were many new songs that I know that in the future will become Christmas favorites. I am greatly pleased with the collection. I normally put my Christmas tree up on Halloween because I want the Christmas season to last as long as possible. That is when I will play my Christmas collection again. Just think; I have all the music that I will need for the entire Christmas season in one, fantastic collection!

Excellent collection of Christmas classics!
I grew up in the 1970s but I am very familiar with Christmas songs from the 1940s onward. I actually prefer them to Christmas songs of the past few decades because the artists really seemed to put their hearts into songs that are somewhat original and not so commercial imo. Also, it was perfectly ok to mention God/Jesus in a song. This collection has a lot of very popular classics, but also some songs that I had never heard before! I love discovering old Christmas gems. I highly recommend this collection as well as the two Time Life double CD sets from the 1980s!

Excellent value for the money
Excellent value for the money. It is a great collection of hits that you know, and have heard in movies, and heard when you were young. I wish they had taken more time crafting the product, however. Occasionally they use a track with such bad sound that it is jarring - song 4 on the first disc, Nat King Cole's marvelous "The Christmas Song" - has the telltale whoosh-whoosh of a record, as if they recorded from a mediocre LP. Other songs are mislabeled - song 9 on disc 2 is sung by Dinah Washington, not Dinah Shore! But for $10 or so, it is great value.
