I LOVE this thing...it simplifies my work!
Having recently stumbled upon Jim Lahey's "No Knead Bread Recipe," I happily re-discovered the art of making incredible home-made Italian bread. I make a loaf of "No Knead Bread" EVERY night/day...it's an 18-20 hour process. As anyone who has made this bread knows, the initial bread dough is not your typical initial dough but a wet, gooey and sticky mess. The No Knead dough is quite challenging to work with but my 11-inch Dough Mixer (aka Danish Whisk) makes working with the wet dough a breeze! I originally used an old metal spoon to work my wet bread dough and the spoon worked well enough, I guess. However, this great and sturdy dough mixer is specifically made for, well mixing batter & dough. Given that, the whisk design allows me to catch every wee-bit of flour and dough that wants to remain in the bottom of my mixing bowl. The hardy whisk mixes flour, salt, yeast and water together with minimal effort. This whisk cleans up much more easily than a spoon and its sturdy design does not give way or bend (like a spoon can) when put to the test of mixing a No Knead Bread dough. In general, this whisk works GREAT and it is very sturdy & well made...it better be 'cause I am using it practically every night! Great item, great price! Buy one now! Great for more than just bread dough!
I had the larger size of this dough whisk and found it awkward to use for everyday tasks, so it wasnโt seeing much use. This smaller one is so handy for bread dough, obviously, but I use it for mixing lots of other things as well like cookie and muffin batters, pancakes, whisking spices into flour, mixing veggie patties or loaves and any kind of thick ingredients without smashing them. I love it! It is made in Poland and appears to be the same brand as my larger one, and is very sturdy and well made. Hand wash only.

Dough Mixer 11 inch
Shipping was good and the product arrived ahead of time. The first one of these I purchased was the larger model. It worked very well, but I like the way this one fits in the drawer much better. And it seems to handle better also. I'm kind of built like Popeye, so I noticed very little difference between the two, but my shortie daughter-in-law swears that the smaller one takes less effort to mix heavy doughs. And since she is the expert in what she thinks, I'll have to grant her that it does. It is a fantastic device that I had little faith would work any better than a wooden spoon, but in fact it does. I cannot believe have much faster mixing goes. There is just one area that could be improved. Where the handle meets the head of this gizmo tends to wear with time and the head will come out of the handle. Would be nice if they could fix this to last more than six months. Also I found it more comfortable to use fine (220 grit) sandpaper to smooth the handle, then I apply a food grade mineral oil to keep doughs from sticking and prevent water from entering the wood while washing.

Buy this, you'll use it!
I first looked at this because of the strange shape! I couldn't believe that it could work for anything! The price was right, so I ordered it to try, thinking at least the funky shape would be a talking point in the kitchen. I am hooked! It mixes dry ingredients very quickly and simply. I have been making bread using a simple no knead refrigerator recipe, and the dough is quite sticky and difficult to mix. This makes it a snap, it mixes up in two ticks, and cleans very easily. It is nice and firm and strong. I bought two more to give to my daughter and daughter-in-law to use. I know my daughter also loves and uses hers.

Great tool, but not so strong
I used this mixer for a number of months and found it very useful. It makes the initial phases of mixing dough much easier, and is a great time saver. I did want to mention that mine actually fell apart, leaving me with a handle and 2 pieces of wire. I managed to put it back together in the end, and hope that it will hold up. I use the tool for mixing bread doughs, which are often very stiff, so this might explain the problems I had with it. Because it is inexpensive and very useful, I would still recommend the tool; just make sure that if you feel that the parts of the tool getting loose, try to tighten it before it falls apart.

Must-have for hand-mixing doughs
"What the heck is that?" my husband asked as I prepared to mix together my cake batter. Or cookie dough. Or bread dough. Or pie filling. Or even ground meat. The fact of the matter is that I use this dough mixer for 99% of my baking projects because it's just that good. It looks bizarre, but the wire and handle are very sturdy-- so much so that I'll can use it to knead stickier bread doughs with ease. Unlike a spoon or a spatula, the shape of the wire loop means that it can pull a lot of batter through without everything sticking to the tool itself. All in all: HIGHLY recommended kitchen tool. The 11" version is the perfect size for my needs. This is easily one of my most-used kitchen implements (first place going to chopsticks).

best kitchen tool ever
This item popped up as a recommended item when I was purchasing "Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day". I checked it out and added one to my cart after reading the reviews here. I am so glad I did! It really does make mixing up bread (or cookies, muffins, etc) a breeze. I have two bum wrists from childhood injuries and they tend to hurt a lot after mixing dough with a regular wooden spoon. Not so with this whisk. The weird shape goes through the dough with ease and makes mixing easier and quicker. It may be weird looking, but it works like a charm and clean up couldn't be easier. It's become my go-to mixing tool.

Great product, really works well for mixing batters and bread dough.
I was skeptical when I saw this funky looking thing. It was a suggested item on something else I was looking at. I gave it a look and read the reviews and thought I would give it a try. The reviews are right, it's really cool for mixing dough that's not quite enough to get the stand mixer out for. It's amazing that the dough doesn't stick all over it. It passes right through the wires. I treated the handle with food grade mineral oil (like my cutting boards) so it will last. I also love the comments when people come into my kitchen and see it!
