Bad deal avoid
These drives are dated 2017 and have a hogh chance of eithy being doa or die within the year... Saying that second part because of reviews I'm seeing. My drive worked for an hour and died after. I have other drives that work fone but this model did not last... Even refurbished druves have lasted longer.

Peerless Reliability, Performance, and Value!
This product is solid. Just check out Backblaze’s real-life stats on thousands of hard drives. While this particular model has not had enough service life to provide meaningful stats, you can *clearly* see from Backblaze’s data that HGST is damn-near flawless. Advanced format 4K drive recognized no problem in Win 10 64-bit (but see Notes below!). Just thrilled with everything about this drive.NOTE: This drive complies with SATA's new PWDIS function (power disable via a new usage for pin 3). This is a modern power-down feature, especially useful for remote drives that need to be power-cycled. My system does not support this (which is likely the case with most controllers in systems out there today). Basically, if voltage is present on pin 3, the drive will interpret this as a power-down signal. Many controllers in existence *always* apply power to pin 3, which will essentially prevent the drive from spinning up. Your impression, then, might be that the unit is dead-on-arrival/DOA. If you have one of these legacy controllers, just use a 4-pin Molex-to-SATA power converter and you'll be all set.I was worried, because *all* of my drives plug into a common SATA backplane (Corsair 800D case), which has a single power connector for all drives. Nonetheless, I inserted the Molex adapter and - sure enough - the HGST spun up just fine. Created one large GPT partition, quick formatted NTFS, and away we go!Don't hesitate on this one. Prime quality and leading reliability.

Dead on Arrival
I ordered two of these drives and both of them were dead on arrival. Windows 10 and Windows 11 couldn't even initialize them. I returned them for a refund.

Waste of time, returned
Drive unreadable when delivered, immediately returned. Another HGST 10GB drive worked in the same slot. Build date on this drive was April 2016, which seems a bit old for a new drive. Drive was packed in an anti-static envelope rather than retail packaging, and is warrantied by the seller rather than HGST/Western Digital.

Awesome drive!
This drive has massive storage and impressive speed. If you have an older PC you'll need to clip the orange wire on the power cable running to this drive or it won't spin up. This isn't the fault of the drive but of your PC and its power supply which don't support the current SATA standard.

Clicking sound after 1 year
I'm trying to return to the manufacture, but it seems the serial number isn't eligible for RMA

Avoid Helium drives
After 7 months S.M.A.R.T. reports not helium left in the drive. Junk!
