BIG, SHARP, and dual purposed!
I have tons of Case knives, their steel is second to none. Truly stainless, and never had any rust problems. This knife is no exception. RAZOR sharp out of the box, both blades can shave your face. This knife is HUGE, bigger than the Buck 110. Has a clip point hunter blade, and a skinner with thoughtful jimping halfway up the spine for a good skinning grasp. The leather case that this comes with is extremely nice, light brown/tan, all leather, and a very secure snap closure. This is a slipjoint knife, no backlock, no linerlock, so don't try to stab ANYTHING or you'll lose your fingers. This is a simple utility knife, for cutting, slicing, skinning, and dressing your game. Overkill for fishing, but you could filet a fish easy as pie with this sucker. The scales are very impressice, as always with case, well polished and textured wood grain. The bolsters are some type of nickle silver or stainless, and have a high mirrored finish. The only thing that would make this knife better is a bladelock, then it would fill the rest of your camping/hunting needs all in one! Even without that feature, still gets 4 stars for fit and finish and overall BULK! Great piece from a great knife manufacturer.

My first, but not my last!
This is the first Case knife that I ever purchased/owned.....I had heard a lot about them from co-workers and various people that I had encountered over the years, but never thought seriously about owning one.....I have several knives such as Spyderco, Fox, Esee, Kershaw, etc.....mostly tactical/ EDC/ survival....and a Buck 110, a gift/classic....most knives that I had seen along this design were imported, cheap, so my interest wasn't peaked....so I learned that Case Cutlery knives were hand-made right here in the US.......I compare this knife to cars of yesterday....all metal, heavy, solid, and vintage vs. my current knives which are like the cars of today.....composite materials, lighter, US and imported......this knife was very sharp right out of the box (both blades) and the knife comes with a leather belt holder/sheath, good craftsmanship on it, but does not fit the knife snuggly....the knife itself is very detailed, with all parts, bolsters and scales, blending flawlessly, all pins are flush and smooth....this knife was made the old fashioned way.....and is heavy in comparison to modern knives.....a knife like this goes well with a pocket watch and Zippo lighter, lol...would definitely recommend this....quality is immediately transferred to the owner upon the initial touch!

Classic and practical.
I got this because it has that powder horn shape like an old Schrade I carried in my purse in college. It's a whole lot nicer with the rosewood. I like my stuff to be pretty and this certainly is. I prefer stainless steel blades because they're easier to care for. They came good and sharp. I can use this for camping food prep and it will clean up nicely.

Case 3165 Chrome Vanadium Folding Hunter
This is about as big of folding knife that can comfortably fit in a pants pocket. It comes from the factory sharp, but the edge is not polished. The chrome vanadium blade will stain and if left unlubricated, it will rust... so it requires a minor amount of attention which is no problem. What you get is a superior lasting edge and a tough knife, considering how light it is. I carry this knife every day and everywhere I go, using it for dining, opening freight, cutting rope and all the normal things you'd use a pocket knife for. One difference is the fact that this knife is a serious self defense weapon, even without a locking blade; the spring is strong and if you know what you're doing, it won't easily fold back on your hand. While I would truly hate to use it in that role, I walk through a lot of dark territory alone at night and it's good to know it's there. After lots of daily use, the hinge is still in good order and I expect this knife will last me a long time. I would recommend this for my friends.UPDATE: After almost a year of daily carry and use this knife remains tightly hinged, easily sharpened with stone/steel, and has become my favorite folding knife of all time. I've included a picture of the blade showing how it darkens over the course of time.
