Hand Tools STHT30810 12' LeverLock Tape Rule

I bought the 12' LeverLock tape because it is a convenient size to carry around in my pocket. It easily fits in my hand and the rubber overmold provides a comfortable and secure grip. The locking lever rests against my ring finger making it very easy to use. I compared its measurements against my 12" metal ruler and they agreed for both inside and outside measurements. There are a couple of downsides with the compact form factor, however. The tape is only 1/2" wide and will only extend out 36" without support. The numbers and markings are readable, but they would be easier to see on a wider tape. I also happen to have the 16' version of this tape measure. The tape is wider, stiffer, and easier to read, but it does not fit in my pocket and it tends to sit in a drawer. Overall, this may be the perfect tape measure to carry around in your pocket.

I love the Stanley Leverlock tape measure functional design... tape stays open when tape pulled out... and button on the bottom recoils the tape when pressed... PERFECT! While the tape measures work perfectly... the product description is not accurate and what I received is not what I ordered.. Ordered 2 YELLOW Stanley Leverlock tape measures like the one pictured and like the couple I already own... Received 2 bright RED-ORANGE tape measures... both with the exact same tape measuring functionality BUT NOT YELLOW as advertised and ordered The marketing packaging of the items received described "high visibility" tape measures While NOT the YELLOW tools I ordered...these RED-ORANGE items work exactly the same...so I have decided to keep them... just wish the product description had not been inaccurate

I ordered two of these because they are handy. I thought it might be a one-off that the one I got was fluorescent orange, not so. The second one is almost brilliant enough to double as a night light. But I like the lever-lock feature and the size, so not worth the bother to return. If you're uncertain, give it a try, you can always return for "not as described"

I've owned nearly every version of Stanley tape measures over the last 40 years, I also have a Lufkin, a couple of Milwaukee, and a DeWalt, but I always reach for the Stanley first. It's just a great tape measure for everyday use.

I bought this to replace another that froze. I wanted a short one (12’) for modest measurements in my music room. It fits the bill very well.

This Stanley lever lock tape beats any prior tapes that I have owned. Release the lever lock and pull the tape out to the desired distance. Release the level lock and the tape stays in place. Other tapes do not cooperate like this. The 12 foot tape is the perfect length for work in my woodworking shop. I am very pleased with this tape.

Perfectly good tape, lightweight and well made. Brake works well. Except I received hi viz orange instead of yellow. I'll cope somehow, but it would have been nice to get the right thing.

Carry it all the time. Great little handy tape.
