Can these be cut to length? My Reocrd vise is 3.5" and original pads have disintegrated.

It looks like you can. The magnetic buttons are less than 3.5 inches apart. You will lose a little of the angled slot, but that is all.

Could these be used to hold pen blanks...either round or square 3/4" in size? I already have a nice vice and don't want to spend a bunch for a penvise

Square 3/4" yes. Round 3/4" probably ok. might be more difficult. Pen vise is specifically made for a specific purpose and might work better if using frequently.

Product works very well. I do not see where the vice pads were made on the product.

can you tell me the measurement ( distance) between the 2 holes for mounting the pads to the vise?

Mine did not come with drilled holes. The 2 silver circles you see are STRONG magnets and hold in place great!
