VTech DM223 Audio Baby Monitor with up to 1,000 ft of Range, Vibrating Sound-Alert, Talk-Back Intercom, Digitized Transmission & Belt Clip

I am very happy with our new baby monitor. We have already tried it out and everything works perfectly. We actually bought it to monitor the sounds of new born puppies, in case they are stuck behind their mother and can't get out. They act much like human babies in that they notify you they are in some type of difficulty and need help. Also like a human baby, it is difficult to constantly be with the puppies so having a baby monitor is ideal to monitor the puppies. My computer which I am using now is on the other side of the house with several walls separating me from the puppies at about 150 feet in distance away, yet I can hear the puppies crying and even talk to my spouse on the monitor while she is in the same room as the puppies. We have also "talked" to the mother of the puppies, who is constantly with the puppies and it is amazing how she reacts to hearing our voices over the monitor. She cocks her ears and stares intently at the microphone on the monitor and listens intently to our voice. It is super to have and a tremendous relief to always know what is going on with the puppies. They do alert you if they feel they are in distress and the sound quality is superb. We are very satisfied with our purchase and thankful to the genius that provided this beneficial aid to our lives!

If you have a disabled person who may need to call you while you're in another room, this is a great device to have. The battery life is good as well. The vibrate feature for loud noises is good but can be a little too sensitive at times. The sound quality is what I would expect from a device like this: not crystal clear but not horrible. Think standard walkie-talkie quality. I've only ever had an issue with connectivity once with this device. All I had to do was turn off the parent unit and turn it back on. Buy this baby monitor set if you just need something basic.

Perfect! Clear sound. Love that both units plug in or you can use the parent unit on rechargeable batteries & my daughter loves the talk back feature****UPDATE2 yrs later & is still working great. My daughters bus stop is right across the street from us & if my son is still sleeping in the morning, I take this this monitor & clip it to my coat pocket & it holds range. This is great, as my son can continue to sleep in peace while Mama has peace of mind being able to hear if he wakes up & if he does within the 10 mins I’m outside I am able to just talk to him & tell him I’m there :)

We needed a baby monitor to replace the walkie-talkie technology ones we were given, which have far too much interference in a large city to be useful.These work great. Sound is very clear, and has a noise gate as well that it only turns on at a certain noise level so you don't hear any remote room noise or hiss in the middle of the night. It also has a light indicating sound so if you have it on low or across the room you can see it also. The range is excellent - no problem taking it down two floors and other side of the house. Much more reliable than WiFi-based "Smart home" ones that are complained about by other parents.Only issue is that the battery life on a charge is not great. You pretty much need to keep it on the charger if you're not walking around as it may only last a couple hours if not plugged in. The connector for the charger also requires a fairly strong push to plug it in, and our Nanny has occasionally not pushed it all of the way in, leaving it dead.

We have used this monitor for 6 months now and haven't had a problem yet. Our room is about 15 feet from hers and the link is never dropped. The base in her room is sound activated and will glow a dull yellow when there is a noise. You can adjust the sensitivity to pick up less or stronger sounds. We are paranoid parents so the sensitivity is always set at 5. I really can't comment about the battery life since we always have our part plugged in. But I can say the plug wire is fairly long so you shouldn't have a problem with it reaching an outlet. For this price it is a great product if you just want the basics.

Love the volume adjuster! Love the light up section 2 if you needed to mute the volume battery life is not nearly as bad as what I read about the complaints. we just make sure we plug it in every night and we're good to go. The distance on this is great to she could be napping inside and I can take it across the entire yard while doing yard work and still hear her.we didn't want something super fancy like a video monitor we wanted simple and easy to use and this is awesome

UPDATE: Went from 5 stars to 2. Second unit has begun to have the same reliability issues after only 6 months. The unit will stop transmitting sound altogether (even when music is playing so I know we should be able to hear it) but it doesn't show that it is not linked to the child unit. So my kid could be calling for us and we would have no idea. Now we need to buy another one and I think we're going to go with a different company because I don't want to keep replacing it.We previously purchased the prior model of this monitor. It lasted 3 years and worked great! For the price point I'm thrilled with how long it lasted, especially considering we used it every single day. Finally that one started to become unreliable and so we purchased this newer model. We've been using it for a couple of months now and I am happy to say the quality is just as good and it has been working perfectly! Only complaint is that this model has the talk button on the side next to the power instead of on the front and we've found we hit it by accident some times. But overall very very happy with it! I recommend it to all of my preggo friends, there's no need to waste money on a more expensive one!
