Just what the doctor ordered!
These hubs are just what I was looking for, they replace unmounted hubs and affix to the edges of surfaces like tables and desks (see three photos where mounted on a desk and backside of a scanner stand). Be sure to get the newest version that is a powered hub, not the earlier non-powered ones (the powered one does not boost signal quality, but adds enough power to operate or charge attached devices; long USB runs still need an 'active' extension cable, although one of these at the front end will help that too). Note that I am also using some right-angle USB3 adapters, these do not come with the device but are handy to reduce cord clutter. The device comes with a USB power lead that ends in USB-A, but you will have to provide the small 120v-to-USB converter, such as those that come with iPhones and such or plug into another USB power source. The device also comes with the primary source-to-hub USB3 (A-A) cable. The device dimensions indicate it will accommodate a thickness of up to 32mm (0.39"), but if you remove the small screw-on protective button you can get another few mm out of it, which is what I needed. I liked the first one so much I ordered two more.

Works as advertised
This upgraded 4-port USB hub has the option to add power to it for those devices that would need it if connected (e.g. external hard drive). If your trying to increase the number of available USB ports that you can use with your laptop or workstation just know that you will lose at most two (one to connect to the hub and/or one for the power option, unless you connect the power to a wall charger). It also nice that you can secure the hub so that it doesn't move around if you have a convenient ledge to attach it.

Nice Product, But Backfeeds Power
As another user, Tony Spark, mentions -- this device will back-feed power back to the host (my PC), if also using the other supplied USB "power" cable. I noticed my PC would not reboot and gives an error when using this device with power applied to it. Instead of opening the hub to cut the +5v power pin, I open up an inch of insulation on the supplied USB male-A to male-A cable and cut the RED wire and used electrical tape to cover the slit -- Problem solved! You could daisy chain it into a another USB hub and may not have this problem, but I didn't want to use an open port on my other HUB. Thanks Tony, because I would not have know to check for this issue.I would have given 5-stars if not for this issue.

Why wasn't this thought of sooner?
Great product. This is attached to my desk which is about 1 inch thick and 1 inch underneath. This hub fits perfect, is very stable, and works great! I'm going to get another one too. I have my fitbit watch, my phone, dongle, and card reader plugged into this. This made things alot easier for me. THANK YOU!!

Working from Home?
Since I started working from home I have found the need for little things. Stuff I hadn't thought would be an issue and one of those was having enough USB connections. This little multi USB connector is pretty good. I know have 4 extra 3.0 USB ports for all that I need. It's compact and attaches easily to my desk or monitor out of the way and it's easy to get to, easy to use. I would recommend this product.
