Lechuza CUBICO Color 22 White, Self-Watering Tall Planter, H16.1 L8.7 W8.7 in

I have been vacillating for a very long time on a decision to purchase this item. I love my plants, but I love my floors even more; although there are many similar items on the market today, my research took around 7 months before I decided to purchase this first Lechuza CUBICO Self-Watering planter. This items is exactly what is described, it is an elegant, simple, and modern solution for a planters in a modern home. If you wish, you can use your own substrate, but it actually comes complete with the right amount needed. There is very little one can say about a good product, and good design, so the best way to do it, would be the if I list you all the "pros" & "cons" on this topic. Word of advice: Look at the sizes carefully, and make sure you are choosing the correct size, for correct plant, and for appropriate decor. I bought CUBICO 22, one of the smaller ones, and I think eventually I will need to upgrade to CUBICO 30, for the larger variety. CUBICO 22 is ideal to be placed on a small bench or larger table, or credenza, it still looks very appealing free standing on the floor, but it certainly can become overwhelmed by the plants, and can possibly overturn if the plant grows too large. PROS: Elegant, Beautiful, Useful, Great Design, Functional, Versatile in application, and will certainly last years with good care. CONS: Indeed, it is a bit crazy what we pay for it; When you tell people that you paid $50, $80, or $130 for a planter they may look at you funny and suggest counseling. However, it is what it is, wish it was more affordable. UPDATE: October 29th, 2016. Great product, plants are thriving, and one thing I want to add as part of additional information is this: Please follow the instructions on how to plant your plant correctly. In order to derive any benefit from the planter, the root system of your plant must have access to the reservoir; as such, you must water your plant over the soil for a period of at least 90 days, as you normally would, to allow the roots to reach the reservoir, or alternatively, plant the plant deeper, where the roots are closer to the bottom of the liner, where they can reach the moisture sooner. Also, understand that this is not an outdoor garden, and as such, you must mix the soil correctly with right amount of vermiculite, or perlite, to prevent soil compacting and becoming too hard, and also in aiding in aeration and moisture retention. And, obviously, use correct amount of fertilizer. All and all a great planter if you do things correctly - an absolute marvel. I bought two more CUBICO 40, for some of my other plants, to be replanted before winter for indoors.

I could go on a ONE MONTH vacation and not have to ask anyone to come in and water this plant. It's also durable enough for outdoor plants. NEXT summer, if Rona has moved on I will buy another one for my balcony summer planter. It may only last 3 weeks outdoors in the heat but still - 3 weeks I could be gone and not come home to dead plants! On 9/24/20 I repotted this plant from my outdoor container (started from a very small $3.49 grocery store plant in MAY!). Today is 10/27/20...MORE than a full month later. I have NEVER watered this plant since it was potted. The top soil is still moist and the moisture indicator is still showing water in the reservoir. I'm guessing it will be at least another week or even TWO before I have to refill the reservoir which will take about a minute because it's SUPER easy to add the water. (will update this post when I finally have to add more water). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product which I bought on Amazon. It's good looking, durable and able to be used indoors and outside as well! I worried about putting anything on my balcony and then wanting to travel for more than week...THIS will allow me to do that next summer because they have a low and long planter that fits my balcony railing perfectly!

Expensive but worth it. Have to scan code for planting instructions. Assembly instructions could be better. For the price, wish they would come with saucers, instead, have to purchase.

I love the look of these planters but due to their design they are very top heavy. Mine kept blowing over in the wind causing the soil to spill out and i'm sure the rocks in the bottom are displaced by now. Luckily the plants in them were cheap and annuals so I didn't mind that they got a little damaged in the fall. For the price, I wish they would have a weight in the bottom to stop this from happening. I'll try again next year with a rock inside for stability.

One of the issues with plastic products is they may not hold up to UV rays. This is especially true for white. I bought this in September 2019 in two sizes, 22 and 40. While they did great as self-watering indoor plants, my needs changed when we changed houses about 3 1/2 years ago. Both were put outdoors. I removed all the self-watering parts and opened up the hole in the bottom for drainage. They’ve been outside in sunny areas all that time and still look great. Every once in a while I have to clean one near dirt with a good wipe down from a microfiber cloth, but it always looks great afterwards.

Purchased April 2019. For two years this has been mostly an outdoor planter. Sun, rain, freezing weather. It has not only endured it, but continues to look beautiful. I would heartily recommend Lechuza planters as production or decorative planters. Cleaning in between plantings with plain dish soap is just fine. The inner liner is very easy to clean with a cotton cloth and a toothbrush on the underside. The outside and insides do not scratch easily. I have moved multiple times and they are always easy to put together and change plants. The removable plugs allowed me to use this planter as a tomato pot in winter inside the greenhouse.

I have about a dozen other self watering planters, and they all either have a cotton cord to bring the water into the planter, or the water forms around the inside of the planter, and no matter how low the water gets, the plant still gets water. This does neither. There is probably a good 6 inch gap between the water level and the bottom of the inside planter where it sits on 4 "legs", so you can have old water just sitting there doing nothing. I solved this by taking out the interior plug, and running a cotton cord from where the plant goes to the bottom of the water well. With that, it's a self watering planter.

I used leca instead of pon but it’s very sturdy and a great size for my growing polka begonia. Even though it’s large it’s light weight when empty. But once full of leca and water it’s a bit heavy so move to where you want it before planting.

La jardinera va perfecta. Se puede utilizar tanto en exteriores como en interiores. Yo la utilizo en el interior y me queda estupenda. El sistema de autorriego es ideal y mi planta se ve perfecta en la jardín. Si necesitara otra no duraría en vol tela a comprar.
