great device with some limitations
This is a great device with some limitations. 1. Although I get notice that someone has come to my front door, to get access and communicate to that person is difficult. I have to log into my phone, then figure out how to communicate and after all of this, the individual has departed and I have done nothing. I tried to use the canned messages but run into the same issue. I have yet to be able to use that feature. I do get recordings and videos of each person, however. 2. at night the light does not illuminate until the visitor is within 5 ft of the camera. I would prefer if it lit when they are within 10-15 ft. There is no adjustment for that. 3. The sensitivity appears to be variable. One day it works fine but the next it triggers on each vehicle passing by the house plus visitors. I have tried to play with the sensitivity but all it does is reduce the distance where the visitor triggers the camera, doesn't appear to change the passing auto trigger. All said, it was simple to install, takes good videos, and I am glad to have it.

Definitely worth the money!
I have the light with the camera. The camera takes excellent video and is very reliable. I did purchase the service in order to store the videos longer on the cloud and especially for recognition of people.Honestly it took me a few days to get the settings dialed in for Human recognition, but I finally got it set perfectly. I got about three videos of my cat before I finally got it dialed in. But since then there is nothing that sets it off except people! It is rather amazing.I have had the light and camera for about 4 months or so, so I can’t speak to the longevity yet but so far, so good.Installation was super easy and I find the price to be amazing for the quality, workmanship, and functionality. I can’t brag enough on the person recognition!

Does the job. A few desirable changes but not bad.
Pretty nice system. Even after the trial period has expired it's still pretty useful as long as I'm able to catch the video within 2 hours of the alert.-Great Video and sound quality. I use them as coach lights on each side of my garage.-Easy to installTook off a star for a few reasons1. I wish this storage time for non premium accounts was a bit longer like 24 hours so that I could at least get though a work day or take a look at the end of the day while I'm on vacation. Sometimes I don't notice alerts on my phone.Note: I've had systems that allows you to keep the videos for as long as you'd like on a home system but I find the temp storage more useful. I don't have to have a computer on and I don't have to manage storage. If I want the video, I can just download it to a storage area of my choice. I just don't like the short window of opportunity that I have with this system.2. After your trial expires, there is a little annoying banner at the bottom of the video recordings screen stating that your trail is over and to upgrade. While it is only on one window, it would be nice if it just listed your current plan with a "change plan" option.3. Smartthings integration. I'm sure it's coming, but it would be nice to have an open system that I can integrate with the rest of my devices.4. I wish there were a way to monitor a specific area. There are some areas that I want monitored that may not be picked up in their algorithm, IE: a car parked in a specific location away from the camera or a mailbox on the street.Update:. 9/13/2017Still going strong. Connection time seems to be very fast when compared to my other cameras. Biggest complaint is still this 2 hour window to see videos. There has been multiple times where it goes off at night and I sleep through the notification. When I wake up... No video, only the notification.

Disappointing
I've been wanting to get something not only to watch over the front yard, but also to be alerted to any kids sneaking in or out. I wanted something that didn't obviously look like a camera so it wouldn't be avoided. After someone broke into our car over night, I decided it was time to start monitoring. I received the light and it was as simple as taking down the old light and putting in the new. It didn't come with instructions, but it is simple to connect. The app worked as expected and I was easily able to get the light on my home network. It allows you to turn the light on and off from the app. You can set it to automatically turn on the light at night and off in the morning. The camera has good video quality. Now for the negatives.I read the reviews before purchasing this so I knew there may be some issues, but at least I knew if it didn't work I had to turn it off for 10 seconds to a minute, close the app, and cycle the router. This happened very soon after getting it. I put the light over my garage. It sometimes wasn't triggering when there were kids in my driveway or when a car would leave, but it would trigger when a car would drive by my house. I turned if off, restarted my phone, and cycled the router just like many other comments have said. That helped a little bit, but after a few hours it was back to spotty detection.I emailed support about the issue along with questions about the LED lights. I didn't want to attract attention to the camera by having flashing lights. One LED can be turned off by the app, but the other has to be turned off physically. Support seemed to reply with the standard answer of cycling everything and try again. They didn't mention anything about my other questions.I emailed them again and they said the problem was my poor internet connection. I have Google fiber, but the device is connected wirelessly. I ran a speedtest from my phone right under the light and got 19mbs down and 23 mbs up. I would think that would be good enough for the device to work. They also told me to set the sensitivity to 95. I had already maxed it out at 100 and moved it down a couple notches each time a passing car triggered it. I got down to 80, but it wasn't seeing anything so I put it back to 92. Strangely enough it didn't trigger on passing cars anymore where it had the day before at 85.The other negative I see with this product is the limited free storage time. If you don't subscribe to the storage service, you only get 2 hours of storage. That doesn't mean two hours worth of video, it means the video is only available for two hours. I got this light primarily for monitoring at night and if the video is only available for two hours I won't see who broke into my car over night. I really think they should extend the free window to at least 12 hours instead of forcing people to pay the monthly fee or allow me to save the video on my own NAS instead. It's $7.50/mo if you pay monthly and $4.99/mo if you pay annually. It's difficult for me to agree to pay the to view the videos when it isn't triggering properly. I tried to find a similar product that offered longer free storage like the skybell does for doorbells, but I wasn't able to find anything that wasn't obviously a camera.Overall, I think this has great potential. They are the first to market and if they can fix the issues most people are having, they won't have to worry about a competitor taking away their market share. As of now, if another product came that resolved the issues I have, I would switch.UPDATE: After numerous exchanges with support and trying all the things they said are the problem, all my fault of course, it is still not working like it should. It goes offline a lot and doesn't trigger when there are kids running around and playing in front of it. I've given up hope that this will every work as intended. I'll wait until a superior product hits the market and happily switch to that.
