Merci Mercado Chapulines (grasshoppers) - Gourmet edible insects from Oaxaca Mexico (Adobo flavor) ( 80 g / 2.8 oz) HIGH PROTEIN CONTENT

Firstly, I would recommend purchasing directly through the Merci Mercado website. I ordered through Amazon, and Amazon totally screwed up the order, shipping the wrong size AND the wrong flavor. Luckily, the amazing folks over at Merci Mercado were more than happy to make it right. Seriously, their customer service was beyond excellent. Secondly, they Chapulines were delicious! I ended up trying the plain flavor, Chipotle, and Adobo, and I loved all 3! I've taken them on hikes, a road trip, and keep them on my desk as I'm working from home for now, and they're simply an all-around great snack. I'm excited to try something a little fancy and use them in some cooking recipes! Merci Mercado definitely has a customer for life!

The grasshoppers were great...well for grasshoppers anyways. They did the trick as we were talking about John the Baptist in class and we asked if anyone would like to try them. This was hilarious as we had some young women dry heaving in class with just the grasshopper in their hands. We told them it was voluntary. Most tried them, some did not. It really is...tasteless. You just have to get past the thought that you are eating a grasshopper. Would we order them again? Well not if I was just eating them as a snack. But they served their purpose for our class.I am not kidding about this last part though...but ever since we ordered these and ate them...we have had an unusual amount of crickets found in our building. I don't think I have ever seen crickets IN our building before...but now they have been found in almost every classroom. I killed one today in our copy room. I am not saying they came from the grasshoppers, all I am saying is that it was an interesting coincidence.

The product is fantastic! Love the taste! Had an issue with the product sent; contacted the seller and got and immediate response, they made everything possible to fix the issue. Great customer service!!! Kudos to the management and big thank you!

I was looking for a way that we could replace this item, but there was not a way to do this. The package showed up at our house with the contents and jar broken in pieces.

JUST ORDERED ANOTHER 2 JARS. I EAT THEM WHEN I START GETTING HUNGRY.THEY TASTE VERY CRUNCHY AND A LITTLE TANGY AND ONLY A FEW OF THEM ARE NEEDED TO SUPPRESS MY APPETITE.VERY HABIT FORMING.

They are light, crispy and definitely not stale. I’m just not a fan of the flavor. It tastes like I’m eating paprika seasoning. Very different from Adobo that I know. If I find a spicy version of this from the same company, I would definitely give it another try.

This is a good portioned package but almost $24 for 75 grams. It’s more expensive than fish. The textures are perfect, but the taste is not what I expected. This adobo flavor is zestier from my culture, but the thin Funyun-like crunch is still bringing me back. I’ll definitely try another one, just not adobo.

I got this jar last summer and they were incredible and tasty. This time around it tasted stale and the taste didn’t taste fresh. I didn’t want to complain about it because I am not that kind of person but I wish I had a good jar for what I paid for them.
