Collected adventures are great!
Just writing a review to combat a prior negative review complaining that the plot drags on forever. Would you say that about a series? No! As shown by the title “the collected tales”, this seems like a story that was written in a more serialized format and compiled for publication in this format to make reading smoother. It’s amazing and a very fun read!

oh my god! I’m tired!
I seriously though it was never going to end. It’s a short story but I felt like it dragged for ever!I mean, I loved the characters, but come on! The problems where never ending and the bad guys never stopped coming, and just when I thought everything was going well and the story was looking more solid, a new character gets introduced again, and more drama and bad guys ensued. Give me a break! Some things I felt like they were completely unnecessary and didn’t support or contributed in character development at all. It felt like they were put in the story just as a filler and to make it longer, and it showed! The worst thing is that, it could have been so much better without it.Also, I hated all the slut shamming they did against Anderson. At the beginning I get that some of it did contribute to some character development due to his family and all, but later it was way too overdone, so much so that it got annoying. To be completely honest the epilogue won this book it’s three stars. I actually wanted to know more of the epilogue but, of course, it was the end so I’m left not knowing how their actual life will start after all the craziness.I didn’t give too much detail because I do not want to spoil it for anyone who wants to read it, but do what you will with the little information I gave.

worth a dollar, for sure
Well, this one's different. It was solid entertainment, thus three stars, but I wasn't as impressed with the consistency or worldbuilding as I'd hoped, and the sex scenes were merely average even with tentacles, so no bonus stars.Cthulhu is consistently misspelled 'Cthulu.' I wonder if that was a legal issue.

Wriggle and Sparkle
Let me just say that the ladies over at the MM Romance Forum seem to have this 'thing' about tentacle smex. Yup. So when this one was out there was talk and we all know how krackens have tentacles. What I was curious was if Lynn's face morphed as his body shifted. !Lynn (Kracken) is this difficult bold well dressed agent for the paranormal unit. He goes thru partners like toilet paper. He is sarcastic and rude which makes his workplace treat him as a joke. But when his sister Lindsey steps in it's a different story.Anderson, yeah what's with the name Anderson for a sparkly unicorn shifter? Sparkleson suits him better as well as the rainbow earrings and shiny colorful shirts. But on the job he means business and this guy is smart, willing to take on his partner and come out ahead.I am smiling as I remember all the fun stuff in this book.Sparkles meeting up with an ex. Another ex. And Lynn is keeping score. 'That makes two that left you on good terms!'Finding the perfect home but having to take out the pool and put in a pond.Kracken insecurity. The ability for a Lynn to be male and interchangeable with a Lynn female. Same with Leslie. Leslie is a male and female name. It makes me wonder about names for those multi sexual tentacle sparkly unicorn kracken offspring. !!Relatives of Lynn's as well as Anderson and how they're loved, tolerated, and hated. This story covers a few years as their working partnership changes. Their relationship grows deeper and as they get more settled, Lynn becomes less snarky. We hear about it but not front and center as in the beginning. It was fun seeing different segments of their lives, how they handle themselves, and adjust.I did wonder about Leslie's present, the one she said she spent months shopping for. It was perfect and it'll be hard for her brother Lynn to beat it. So with Leslie's mob connected boyfriend I thought they set something up . .. . With the boat ride and ensuing problems. It smacked of something a sister would do. Add some excitement to the festivities. But no, we never hear exactly what Leslie gifted her brother on his big day.An enjoyable read, definitely a re-read for those that love fantasy, hot guys, fun times, all in a wonderful story. - Dan's Wife

4.5 stars! I read this and I enjoyed it a lot! Who knew?!
Wow, this has become a summer of first-ever reads for me. I thoroughly enjoyed this collection of novellas about Lynn and Anderson, and I can imagine rereading this in the future. I'm also adding this author to my watch list and checking out her backlist!I'm still not a fan of novellas, but this excellent collection follows their first meeting through their HEA. I had to adjust my brain at the start of the second novella that it wasn't simply the next chapter, and after that I just let it flow, one story to the next. They're FBI and their cases, or the mysteries they stumbled into were just how I like them: exciting without being nightmare-inducing, PG-level gore, and showed their talents and abilities as the good guys. {swoon}Until a couple months ago, the only shifter stories I had read were wolves. I've now read cats and bears, and the bunny-shifter I keep looking at is probably going to be in my cart soon. But, wow. Mythical creatures? A kraken and a unicorn? I didn't know there was such a thing as tentacle sex, but, damn, Lynn and Anderson are smokin' sexy hot, in and out of the water. Who knew? LOL! It's new to me and I want more! Here's my bottom line: this collection hits all my buttons! Well-written, well-edited, creative story collection, lovable and quirky MCs, and an HEA.

Loved It!!!
I normally am not into stories with Kraken and unicorns but this story was just so funny and sweet. There was enough drama and shenanigans going on to keep it interesting but the over all feel of the characters was just so perfect.

Words cannot describe how much I love this book!!!
I love, love, love, love, love this novel. It is episodic, which for me was a first, but it worked sooo well for Lynn and Anderson. It gave the novel an excellent pace, filling it with so much action, love, laughter and sass, that any other way would have been an information over load. But with these two it just flowed. its like having 5 novellas, which create one big story. But if you do not like the idea of tentacle sex (I cannot believe I am writing that either lol) then you probably would like it. but for anyone with an open mind, and are looking for a new type of shifter read, click buy, I swear you will not my disappointed! I am now in love with unicorns, and all things so sweet they can send me into a diabetic coma, Anderson is just that awesome. Lynn to is amazingly written too. Big and bad, with enough arrogance to fill several designer suits (take your pick) he is as sweet as the cupcakes he is continually feeding Anderson. They are the opposite of each other; a unicorn with an attitude, and a badass kraken that reminds you of a puppy.I do not normally leave reviews, but Derr has given me a reason to write one. It is just awesome!

Fantabulous!
O.M.G. I absolutely love this book, there aren't enough superlatives. The title drew me in, then who couldn't love a Unicorn and his Kraken. They get into more trouble than any two beings should be able to, but they are ace at getting out of it again. This is the ultimate gender fluid book, yet whichever body he's in Lynn is still male and Anderson loves him.... Perfection. I do hope we see more from these characters maybe Rudy and Stern could get a book?

I cannot tell you how much I loved this book
I cannot tell you how much I loved this book. I devoured it in a day{and very late night) and was so sad when it finished. The characters are amazing, I am totally in love with Lynn and I am in withdrawals right now. The snark, the glitter, the emotions and the tentacles. OMG the tentacles. Not your usual tentacle porn, trust me you want to read this one. I was totally blindsided by this one and I need more! Megan Derr Im planning on stalking you to get more Lynn and Sparkleson.

What an amazingly beautiful mind this author has- to build a powerful love story between a Kraken shifter and a sparkly Unicorn shifter and to make it utterly convincing, magical, sexy and so memorable and perfect. Just holy heck -what a gifted storyteller!!

Megan derr, anything by this author I buy. This book is another one i love. Different kind of book, took a bit to get used to not being in chapters but little books of its own but it was great, I hope there is a follow up with our favorite centaur and troll.
