I think that is the original design & manufacture to sale for ac furnace have devices.

I've used it for all kinds of other things, but read description, it is meant to seal heating vent duct tracts with cracks or tears without catching fire from sealing the venting of heating units.

Can it be used to insulate water pipes outdoors from the cold?

I can be applied, and it will hold on to your pipes in the cold, but I don't think it will add much insulation to the pipe.  I would recommend a product like "Frost King CF42X Foil Backed "No Itch" Natural Cotton Pipe Wrap, 3-Inch x 1-Inch x 25-Feet".   If needed, this aluminum tape could be used to seal the connected pipe wrap.  Good luck, stay warm and Happy New Year

Can this tape be used to repair a small hole in a storage freezer? Inside surface looks like aluminum covered foam.

I would think so. If the insulation is gone, I would replace the insulation before taping over it to insure the insulating properties of the freezer. That is my guess. Good luck.

Haven’t used it, just happened to be reading the description. It talks about how it uses a special adhesive that can withstand extreme temperatures both indoors and out, moisture, and a bunch of other stuff (it is silicone based I believe). To me, someone who knows nothing about these things, it makes it seem like you can makes it sound like you could use it to fix a tool for the grill and hold it in the direct flame and nothing would mess it up.

It DOES say later on that you can use it from -20 degrees to 200 (F). 200 almost seems low if you think about places where the weather Is in the high 90’s -100’s for days at a time and you’ve used it on a metal part to a running machine in direct sunlight. It could easily get up to 150 by 10am. That could also be the resin coating as well. Pretty sure that stuff holds up in anything, but I don’t know.
