happy we bought the 12 foot
item arrived earlier than anticipated and in good condition. bought on recommendation from headwaters kayak YouTube video and so far they're great. we only have taken them out twice and aren't exactly experts, but for being 50 and having some joint issues I was able to paddle for 2 hours without pain. I felt like we could move pretty quick through the water, and the tracking was good too. lots of room for stuff in there too.

Best Recreational Kayak at this price point
The Wilderness Systems PUNGO 120/125 is hands down the best Kayak at this price point on the market for 2020. Certainly one of the best if not the best seats, with adjustable lumbar, thigh rise etc all while seated. Foot rest design is easy to adjust while paddling. Kayak is stable has a great secondary edge, good glide and tracking. The only real negatives are minor. The Kayak sits very low, so in rough water you are going to get water inside. The removable dash makes it hard to get in and out of the kayak if you have long legs. Of course you can take it off. The cup holders are too shallow to keep your drink in with out falling out if you lean to one side or the other. The water proof dash container will cook your phone if you store it there, or put a cool towel over it like i do to keep it from overheating. Lastly the shipping packaging is a joke, WS needs to do a better job of packaging to prevent damage. I was lucky mine was not damaged considering the cardboard and plastic were barely even hanging on, let alone protecting it in anyway. Good luck getting one however, took 2 months due to the high demand. Thanks COVID.

Stable and roomy...
I had purchased a Pungo 125 and loved it so much I got a Pungo 120 for my wife, and she loves it. This is a very stable kayak that tracks very well. The cockpit is large and roomy and seat back and bottom are independently adjustable for best comfort. The dashboard is great with plenty of spaces to put drinks and phone etc. The dash board can also be removed easily for extra room to fit a child or a dog with no problem paddling. The rear storage hatch is large and roomy. This kayak is wider than most so I would suggest a paddle at least 95 in or 240 cm as they say in the kayak game. We have 6 kayaks in our family fleet from Preceptions to Pelicans and the Pungos are hands down the best rides. The only thing I can say that's a small negative when buying kayaks online to have shipped is to expect some scratches or scuffs on delivery. They are packaged in very lite weight card board with plastic wrap that doesn't offer a whole lot of protection. Nothing a little bit of sanding with asuper fine grit sandpaper can't fix. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.

Excellent kayaks but delivery to get two was tough
We love our Wilderness Systems PUNGO 120 and 125 Sit Inside Recreational Kayaks. They are quality! And during the pandemic, apparently MANY people wanted kayaks. The first two we ordered... one came minorly scuffed up and unpredictably late (WHERE is it???!!?) and one never came after much dealing with Amazon... So we ordered another, as we are two people and one is of no use to us - and THAT one seemed to disappear into the delivery system without a trace. We began to fear that they had been over-promised and that we'd never get it, so while they were trying to figure out where it was and when it would come to us, we ordered ANOTHER and it beat the last one here, so we cancelled that one. AY, the whole process was tedious and I would order them from some other place, if it were possible. I understand the pandemic made things tougher delivery-wise, but it's a large object and one should be able to know where in the country they are. Amazon people were nice, as were their delivery companies they hired, but some were better than others, if you know what I mean. (The final kayak we ordered was in perfect condition and arrived exactly when they said it would.). Anyway, we're loving them but it's a cautionary tale - don't expect this to go like your other amazon deliveries.

New version not as good as previous version
I have owned Wilderness kayaks in the past. This Pungo 120 is a brand new version that is slower than the previous version. It seems lighter and the plastic is thinner on the bottom. I feel that it doesn’t track as well as my Pamlico 12 foot kayak. The kayak had some damage from shipping such as gouges on the bottom and sides. I contacted Wilderness and logged the issues. Amazon was great and provided a discount for the damage.

I'm quite happy!
I've had occasion to get my kayak in the water twice. It's a good craft at least on smooth water. It is stable, seems fairly quick and it tracks well. I have no issues keeping up with comparable kayaks. I have not used the removable dashboard. Thus far I've found it non-essential and have left it onshore. I keep my valuables either in a zipped pocket or a dry bag which I place inside the kayak. I haven't fished in the kayak so the dashboard is just more weight and reduces the size of the cockpit. I will try it sometime I suppose just to get a feel for it. Overall, I have no regrets on this purchase! I suspect someday I will buy a longer, lighter and faster craft for more versatile kayaking.

product arrived damaged today
We had such high hopes for the Pungo 120 but the damage caused during shipping has me weary of real world uses. It was in our garage just moments after being delivered when we noticed four or five places with heavy plastic damaged. The Kayak arrived open without cardboard or plastic and the dashboard that is said to come with it - missing. There weren’t even any stickers on it which leads me to believe it was used instead of new. Already started the return slip and reading similar reviews we have settled with the fact a trip to the sporting goods store will only solve this continued dilemma it seems.

Keep looking
I wanted to go with a different brand than the popular brand of kayaks but if I could do it again I’d go back. The cockpit on this is huge. I could fit two kids inside with me. If you want to take kids or animals this would work. But I’d prefer more storage spaces and less cockpit room. The removable cockpit storage doesn’t sit right so it can be annoying and you can’t fit water bottles without them tipping but I did like it for storing my phone. Mine wasn’t wrapped or anything when delivered so it came in completely scratched all over. There were even footprints in the cockpit area.
