Time It Right

A genuinely moving tale of finding love and the problems that go with it
I have to say I came stumbled upon this book and read it without expecting too much. I'm a 26 year old male and have never really read anything like it before. The story is about a young girl, finishing school with college ahead of her, coming to terms with her sexuality and lesbianism. She has to battle what her friends think and feel, what the opinion of her school is, her parent's thoughts and, of course, her own feelings on the issue. It's a fascinating read into just how difficult life as a young lesbian must be. Some of the trials and tribulations faced by the protagonist, such as coming out to her parents, are written in such a painfully beautiful way. One can only imagine how difficult it must be, knowing they may accept it, or you may lose them forever.By far and away, the stand out part of this story is watching the difficulties faced by the main character in confronting her own desires. I felt the author was able to convey these emotions wonderfully, really demonstrating the struggle between being accepted by society and being true to yourself. I really empathised with the protagonist and felt so terrible for her at times in the book when everything became too much for her.Her constant battle with herself was extremely moving and I have to say that I was flying through the book by the last few chapters, on the edge of my seat about what would happen. I was truly sorry to finish the novel. A great read, and a surprisingly emotional one too.

Defiantly recommended
I've read this book twice now both at very different stages of my life. Once last year before coming out and now after. Both times I have really loved it.The author has captured really well what it's like to discover your gay and to struggle to come to terms with it and coming out. I really identified with the main character. If you are experiencing this I would defiantly recommend the book to you.My only criticism is I really don't feel like the author took the tome to research the English school system. I'm from England and there were some obvious flaws there.Over all its a We'll written book with interesting character that are easy to relate too.

Really enjoyed it.
I thought this was a great read. It was about a teenage girl discovering her sexuality and dealt with it in a very sensitive manner. The characters were great and I would love to have a friend like Lucas. If one of my daughters are gay. I would highly recommend this book to them and anyone else that wants to read a good book.

I loved this book.
I loved this book and hope that there is a second one. I loved the characters and the storyline was really good. Coming out is difficult at any age, but the trials and tribulations of being a teenager is well depicted in this book. Lovely book definitely recommend this book and please write a follow-up book cause I'm desperate to know what happens next.

Another great read
Yet another superbly written story by Sierra Maley, about two teenage girls on the verge of adulthood, one of them gay and open about it, and the other gay but she just doesn't realise it yet.The trials the two girls go through can be painful to read, but come across as very believable, as though this could be a true story.I am a sucker for a happy ending and for so long that happy ending seems just like a pipe dream, but it is so worth reading right to the end.Highly recommended.

Recommend
A really great story to read, the characters were believable due to the authors ability to describe what val was feeling, it wasn't rushed and didn't feel forced between the characters... It flowed nicely.

Good Read!
A great read. I did take off 1 star due to the amount of characters I had to memorize which was annoying and they didnt seem to have much depth (plot devices). Otherwise entertaining and a good starting point for Maley. Other stories by Maley outshine Time it Right but if you are a fan of her work definitely still worth a read.

Excellent Book
There are certain expectations when you select a read in a specific genre. This book delivers on the 'expected' content.~ Content rating - Adult themes of course, but very well handled. Drinking, no overt drug use glamorization. Maybe 3 true cuss words if that. Very clean. Safely YA even for younger teens and - should a 12 year old seek content like this, this would be an ideal book for the to encounter over others that have a more graphic style.~ Writing was well done and flow was great. Easy to read - though I do admit to skimming a total of perhaps 6 pages to move things along if you added up all the little eye jumps. If there is a negative I guess that would be the only one I'll have.~ Nothing felt forced or hokey. The characters were believable though the author did stick mainly w the main lead. The story and timing were both believable and (while delivering the goods) didn't fall into cliche or at any time make me sigh a weary 'not this again'. (drama class at high school as a gender optional repository was the exception. You know. common. lol)~ had nice surprises and plot twists~ had a great ending.~ if it were possible to give a book a half rating then this would have been a 4.5. But thats not possible. So the 5 it is.

Dieses Buch hatte mir besser gefallen als Time it Right (weniger frustrierend).

SOMETHING OF A DIFFERENCE BUT ALL BEING GREAT!!!!!
I do hope this has a sequel coming it so deserves it, for Valerie and Lindsay a big emotional turmoil a bit teary and possibly a happy ending, but by having a sequel to there college life and how they cope there would be fantastic. Please write a sequel about Valerie and Lindsay and more of there life together much needed...

Has the ring of truth
Though this story is apparently set around 2012, the cultural background seems to come from about 10 years earlier! I live in a tiny backwater in Pennsylvania, but even here, everyone has come to terms (with a heavy sigh) about non-traditional pairings.Yet, what little the story loses from anachronism, it more than offsets with the gain of authenticity. All the experiences, the reactions, the missteps, the misunderstandings, sound real and genuine. Painfully genuine, I might add, as the best stories in this genre are. Either Ms Marley has a brilliant imagination, or she (or someone close to her) has actually lived this experience.Ms. Maley: if you're reading this, please read through the book slowly; in sections where the writer is most agitated, there are multiple instances of battered, and sometimes incomplete, sentences, which should be repaired. Also, in one instance, there is 'wailed' instead of 'waled', which is a word common among kids, I understand.
