Fisher-Price Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway, Sodor Oil Derrick - Battery Operated

I am an enabler for my nearly 2 year old twin boys Thomas the Train habit. Well, since they don't have a credit card, I guess it's really all me.Regardless, at their age they love the trains, they love the tracks, but they also really love the different buildings. So, I try to buy some of the buildings I think they will like and put them to the test.I bought this one because I liked it's interactive nature for my young boys. They tend to like toys where they can push buttons/pull levers and have fun sounds come out.They do like that about this too. It basically has two ways to interact with it...a crank you can turn and a pipe you can move up and done to "fill up" the trains. They are a little young to pretend play they are filling up the trains, but they like pulling the levers and making the fun oil drilling sounds.I did have one more thing to note about this piece. The railway track that connects the building to the railway is a separate piece and not physically connected to the building like prior buildings I've bought. I suppose that could be a plus for those that want to use the building as part of their set, but not part of the railway track. However, in my case it's one more opportunity for my young boys to lose a piece I don't have spare parts for and be unable to connect the building to the track. I think I'll wood glue it together and all will be well. :)Anyway, my boys have a lot if fun with this one. So, it's a keeper.

Looks very nice and has a fair bit of interactivity, but the main piece only connects very loosely to the track, so my kids don't play with it much.

Great addition to my sons collection. it lights up and makes sounds. Can't beat the price for a Thomas wooden toy.

My grandson loves Thomas the Train and this is a wonderful addition to his set.
