I bought this umbrella in June 2021 and have been using it pretty much spring through fall ever since. It has worked to help in the rain as well as the sun. We have mainly been using it for the sun, though it does take some adjustment—especially if you are out walking and you change directions depending on how low the sun is in the sky— you may need to adjust the position of the umbrella again to keep the sun off of you; so it’s not like set it and forget it unless the sun is high noon in the sky. Usually my husband will wear it and I will adjust it for him as we’re on our walk. It is important to use the adjustment screws on the back plate to pivot and angle it just right if the sun is not straight up in the sky. The umbrella has taken quite a beating since we live in a windy place, and one of the poles has recently broken, but it hasn’t affected the overall use of the umbrella. And it just broke probably two months ago, so up until that point it nothing was broken even though we use it in the wind all the time. So it’s still working and getting seasonal daily use even after two years. I see a lot of people on here claim it’s not durable. I’m not sure how ours has done well when theirs failed. As far as the straps length, we haven’t had any issues. My husband is 6’4” and can wear it comfortably.

Surprisingly there's not a lot of options out there for a hands-free umbrella. I'm always walking two dogs at the same time and the Pacific Northwest and it's very hard to only have one hand available in the pouring rain. This umbrella system is a solid four stars. Does what it's supposed to do but here are the things that I wish it would do better: The umbrella itself rusted after one use. Luckily it does look like you can replace the umbrella and the system should still work. Also the umbrella size is quite small and in order to get it to cover majority of the front of you you need to make a lot of adjustments in the strap system. The shop system is a bit flimsy and does not leave much room for customization but you're able to adjust it just enough to where it keeps you relatively dry. All of these things can be fixed with purchasing a different umbrella as well as perhaps using sewing skills or additional items like carabiners or other things that can help keep the straps more secure on your body while maintaining the umbrella positioning. Other than that it gets the job done but I do wish that there was a higher quality version available

This arrived with no instructions. My husband and I managed to put it together, but it doesn’t work. It’s also so tiny, it’s built for a child. Save your money and pass on this!
