Great value and quality speed rope
This speed rope is excellent, it's great value for money and its top quality as well. The handles are made from aluminium and feel great in the hand, I've got a plastic handled speed rope but much prefer these. The handles have a light knurling on them as well which prevents slipping. The bearings are nice and smooth, I had no catching or dragging during use, I was able to do double unders really easily. The cable was easy to adjust, just loosen the screw and tighten where you need to, it held in place with no slipping at all. The quality of the cable also seems good but as with other ropes will degrade on concrete. So either get a protector or use on a softer floor.I honestly don't think there's any downsides to this rope, very pleased with it 5 stars.

Lightweight ball bearing jump rope
Disclosure: I got it with the 50% discount when they just announced it on the marketplace. I've been following Gravity Fitness for some time as they have amazing products (I also have their gymnastic rings) and this was a welcome addition to their line-up.I jump rope ... a lot ... I enjoy it while listening to podcasts and it's a good low-impact fitness exercise. I've been looking for a cheap ball bearing rope and this is it. The bearing seems to be of a good quality, I've just used it for 10 minutes and it doesn't rattle or make any noise, the rope is plenty long for everyone under 2m tall, I'm 1.88m tall and it's long enough for me with some cable to spare. The cable is properly packaged and it doesn't tangle out of the box.I hope they also introduce spare steel cables as they wear out, and maybe a heavier/slower rope but that may be asking for too much.

Can't adjust
Can not adjust the length of the rope because one of the screws does not have a thread on it so it does not stay in the metal bit.

Solid, well-made skipping rope build to last
Disclosure: I got it with the 50% discount when they launched the product. You might as well buy once and have it last. This rope will stand the test of time - really solid feel and smooth action when skipping thanks to the ball bearings. Gravity Fitness makes quality products (I having been using a pair of their rings regularly for 2 years now and not a single complaint) and they have done themselves proud with this one.

Great, especially for indoor use
This skipping rope has been a game changer for me, having previously used a very basic and chunky plastic skipping rope.It is a lightweight but still solid piece of kit and a great addition to my home gym. The aluminium handles are comfortable to hold, I like the skinny design. The coated steel rope, at 3m long, is plenty long enough for me at 5’8”, and also my husband who is 6’. It’s easy to adjust the length by turning the small wheel on each side to loosen and re-tighten.The cable does not tangle easily so it’s quick to switch from skipping to other activities when working out. The only issue I have is that the rope has a pvc coating which is easily damaged by rough surfaces. I am trying to skip on a mat outside as the first time I used it, on paving, there was quite a lot of damage to the plastic of the rope. Over time this would get worse and there is no replacement cable included (which some similar models to include).Overall I’m very happy with this skipping rope, this type is much easier to use than others I have tried. I’ve found I get tangled less easily and can skip for longer intervals more easily. There are many similar or near identical ropes available, if you plan to be using this outside it may be worth considering one that includes replacement cables, but otherwise this is a solid bit of kit.

A Greta perfuming rope but no bag. no spares and too expensive.
I have used and reviewed a lot of jump ropes including metal speed ropes but this was my first with this adjustment mechanism. The rope came in a Gravity Fitness branded cardboard box, which was quite smart but is a lot less useful than the nylon drawstring bag that gets included with most other ropes. There are no spare ropes either nor hard surface guards so when/if you wear out this rope you have to buy the whole package again. The handles are made of aluminium with a slim profile and a textured grip part. I prefer slimmer handles so they felt really comfortable and lightweight but also solid. The rope itself felt quality and whips around very easily. As for the adjustment method? Well I like it, with a couple of reservations. Firstly, on the positive side it is quite easy to set up as you just thread the handles on the rope (through the hole in the bearing), slip the adjustment nut over (and tighten it), then the little plastic end cap to stop the rope fraying presumably and the sharps ends catching you. Once I had got it to the right length small adjustments were as easy as loosening the nut by hand and then retightening it. My reservations are:That the plastic end tips will probably get lost or worn through quite quickly, potentially leaving a sharp rope end.The nut is on the outside of the rope handle meaning that there is nothing (save your skipping momentum and good arm width) to stop the handle sliding inwards and affecting the arc of the rope. I did try putting in the nut on the other side but then the plastic rope end is all that is stopping the handle sliding off the rope so don’t do that.Overall the mechanism is okay but it is perhaps less forgiving than others e.g. the one you get with fitness counting ropes if you don’t maintain good arm width and tension. In use:Well it works really well and the PVC covered steel rope just slices through the air rapidly and cleanly. The bearings must be working well as everything is smooth and geared towards speed. The handles are great for me but that’s a matter of individual taste. For general use I still like a fitness rope but I am trying to mix thing up a bit and have a jump rope session with a weighted fitness rope to start and then a speed rope once I am warmed up. One thing is for sure and that’s that fitness ropes seem heavy and slow once you use this. Thus far the rope hasn’t kinked in use but it has become all tangled up, and the lack of a storage bag for after use is a pain.PROS:Pretty good adjustment system, which seems to keep the rope secure (thus far).Handles are very comfortable.Rope zips through the air with ease and can go as fast as your legs can jump - still trying to catch it up!Quality of manufacture seems very good.Hasn’t kinked so far.CONS:No bag, no spare rope/s, no hard surface guard. When the rope dies you’ll have to buy the lot again.Price is too high given the above exclusions. I am testing an almost identical rope that has all the above and is £5 cheaper! I think you are paying for the brand (even though it is unknown to me) and the ‘tested by athletes’ element.Only one colour choice.Minor niggles re the adjustment system.OVERALL:I really liked the performance of this rope. It is noticeably better than the two previous speed ropes I have used (though one had the option to weight the handles), and is on a par or very marginally better than the other one I am currently testing. However, the other rope is almost identical (the difference may actually just be that it is adjusted to a slightly different length), but is cheaper and includes more in its package. While I like using this rope and its premium performance, there are so many similar ropes for less money that include more that I can’t see why you would buy this one specifically, and therefore cannot recommend it.
