Good quality
First time replacing one of these. It installed pretty easily. I had to make small adjustments where it connected to the derailleur to get it to work in the whole range of the 7 gears, but I think that’s a normal part of the installation. This was just a matter of pulling slightly more or less of the wire through the nut where it connected until it was the right tightness/length. Works great and seems like a solid product that will last for years.

Good value and workes as advertised
Product came as advertised. Fit perfectly the bike.Though it was easy for us to install, we will note that we have a lot of experience with bikes. So we have the easy to install a 4 star simply because the average person without that experience may need to take a few more minutes to figure out how to install.

Almost certainly not a Shimano part
I can't give this 5 stars because it has Shimano branding, but there are some signs that it's a knock-off. The biggest one being that the Shimano part with the same part number has a barrel adjuster built in and this does not. All of this being said, I installed it, set it up, and on my 1x7 it seems to work fine. Was able to index my derailleur, and everything seems to work as expected. If it makes it through the winter I'll consider giving it the 5th star

Genuinely impressed
At first I bought for the sole reason that I was being lazy and didn't want to install a brake lever and a shifter but not having so much on my handlebars and having them combined makes repairs quicker.
