Excellent product!
The product is as described. Shipping was done in a timely manner and the packaging was also good and my product arrive safely at my address. This tanto knife is very well made and the scabbard is too. The tanto fits nicely into its scabbard opening and there is no problem pulling it out or getting it back into the scabbard. All went smoothly with this transaction and I am happy with my product.

Rare Unokubi type blade
As soon as I saw this tanto I had to get it. It’s a unique style called Unokubi. It basically has a false edge on half of the back edge. This false edge isn’t sharp but is instead there to change the blade profile. This is uncommon for a tanto shape. You can see it next to a more traditional shaped tanto in my pictures. This tanto is very nice and has real ray skin Samegawa underneath the black cotton wrap. The only flaw it has is that the blade moves around in the saya. It stays in but does rattle around. At this price I would like to have the blade fit in the saya better but I’m very excited to get a Unokubi tanto.

Happy with this
Overall, I'm happy with this. It wasn't as sharp as I hoped it would be but it still easily passed the paper test. The fuller pattern is very unique and kind of adds a techo/futuristic feel to the blade.

Disappointing
Received the knife today and noticed it had black grime all over the blade, and the handle wrap is uneven, with the tang dowel seemingly inserted at an angle which made the handle coating crack and fray where it pokes through. It seems sturdy enough, and the length I tested was sharp, but I bought this for display and it’s not up to par.

What ZOMBIEVEGAN is referring to is Kubikiri Tanto?
What ZOMBIEVEGAN is referring to is Kubikiri Tanto. Meaning head cutter (I think) & has reverse spine and edge. It also usually has a blunt or rounded tip. Genuine antique era Kubikiri are the most rare likely the most shrouded in mystery of all Tanto variarion of Japan's Samurai age. As a weapon in combat, Tantos were seldom used by the Samurai or any or any other combatants. More so for Seppuku the act of hari kari (stomach cut). Fighting was for katana and wakuzashi. In my experience however, any antique weapons collector "In The Know" or actual Japanese person with a wealthy knowledge of their own heritage's history have all said the same thing regarding Kubikiri Tanto... They are just really fancy pruning tools for bonsai tree pruning. Just kept in the tradition of a Samurai's other cutting tools. Or maybe it's specifically meant for execution by beheading. But that was the Katana's main gig, though. So its a fancy zen garden tool? I mean IF that is what this is???? I hope not. I need a nice Tanto to team up with my new Katana/Wakuzashi Daisho (big-little). I've always seen them in the 3 piece sets. But traditionally the Samurai carried 2. But people still ask "Where is the little one???" At this price point....

Damaged used looking blade supposed to be new
The worst thing is the tip is bent badly like it was used before, the blades sharp edge is rolled in areas. The brass fittings have lots of blemishes and stains which is whatever but also set crooked inside, see pictures. This was supposed to be new and for 85$ I expected at least no damage and a new product, if its new then someone needs to be looking these over. Super disappointed to waste gas to drive it to a return spot.

Meh
My blade came in the mail with rust on it, and came with a chip in the top. Not to impressed but can’t expect much from a cheap piece.
