Dutton-Lainson Company SA5015AC 120 Volt/1200 lbs Electric Winch with Built-In Remote

I've owned 3 of these exact units. The first one worked it's butt off and finally gave up the ghost after a few years. The second one worked great until it got stolen. The 3rd one catches fire when it's used. I bought it and left it in the box for about 9 months before putting it to work, so no warranty to fall back on.I'll order a 4th and see how it does.

These people should be ashamed of themselves. The two star is because it operates. Not impressive engineering, NoCompany Support!!! They are kind of it is what it is !!! Then the mountings plate is 65.00 and they are 10-12 weeks out on shipping. I’m laughing at myself for getting involved in a no solution problem. You can doBetter I’m sure. I made my own mountings plate piece of metal a good drill and bit and. 15 minutes 2.85 for cut to size plate Me about a hour I’m 71 years old 1/4 hr is at least 3/4

I use this winch to hoist my 2 wheel trailer [580lbs] up to my garage ceiling. Yes, it hangs horizontally, right over my Volvo SUV.The winch pulls it the 9' up in about 20 seconds... it works great !

So I purchased this to mount to a jet ski Davit lift to pull up a 700lb jet ski. It lasted about one summer and now will not lift it up all the way anymore. Every time you put tension on it you smell electric burn because it struggles so much. Very expensive lift with very little performance.
