Update 09/02/22: After a couple of months use I can honestly say this thing is brilliant (no pun intended!) I've got used to the brightness of the light and & now have it in front of me on my desk all day until 4 or 5 pm. It helps keep me focused & alert, and my insomnia's clearly improved. Despite some very difficult circumstances, I feel its also helping to keep depression at bay. Original review: This was a great purchase - I had a very expensive SAD lamp about 12 years ago that was 3 or 4 times the size of this and very bulky. That one got broken last time we moved, so because my mood's been low recently and my sleep cycle's really messed up, I decided it was time to invest in a new one. I bought this particular model because it was the cheapest SAD lamp I could find from a reputable manufacturer. I was sceptical that such a tiny lamp could be any good, but I'm happy to have been proved wrong. Yes, it's tiny size means you either need to have it very close to your face or use it for longer than my old lamp to get the full effect, but because it's so dinky, it's easy to whip out and switch on anywhere there's a plug socket. The lead on the plug is over 5 ft long (about 155 cm) which has been plenty for my needs, but an extension lead could always be used if required. Since my lamp arrived 3 days ago I've placed it on the table in front of me each morning whilst eating breakfast - it's easily propped up using the little stand provided. However the best thing for me was realising I can pop it in the tablet slot on my desk whilst I'm working (see photos). Initially this obscured my laptop screen, but the box the lamp came in was just the right size to raise my laptop to the right height! The lamp does feel very bright so close to my face, and I believe working like this for too long would probably cause a headache, but it's easy to switch the lamp on and off, so I'm using it in short bursts throughout the day, which (for me at least) seems the best way to use it. Beurer's official blurb states the light therapy takes about 7 days to take effect. I've not had it that long,so I can't vouch for this lamp's longer-term effects, but over two days of regular use, I feel it's made me a little more positive and alert by day, and best of all, I fell asleep by 11:30 pm last night and stayed asleep until morning which is virtually unheard of! Having said that, I've also just switched from CBD to Valerian as a calmer/sleep aid, so how much of this can be attributed to the lamp I don't know. There seems to be plenty of scientific evidence online to back the manufacturers claims for this lamp. My gut feeling is that the lamp will have a substantial role to play in resolving seasonal low mood and sleep issues, but only as part of a wider strategy that includes eating healthily, physical exercise, practicing some kind of mindfulness, sleep hygeine, and supplementing with relevant vitamins & minerals (most Brits need D3 during winter months, plus many are deficient in B12, B6, magnesium, iodine & omega 3 fatty acids). As I was already working on other lifestyle factors, I'm hoping this lamp will be the final piece of the puzzle. I'll try and remember to add an update in a few week's time to comment on any longer-term effects, but, so far, so good :) Conclusion: this tiny & low-priced lamp seems well made, is just as effective as my previous much larger model, and is incredibly easy to use, store or carry around.

Really good product

I bought this product and it was fantastic for the first few days however after a very short period of time it started to flicker, I logged an issue however no one got back to me and the product has never worked properly since. It is constantly flickering and as a result I can’t leave it on.

This TL30 has been a great help for more than 2 years! I've recently upgraded to TL45 and gifted this one to my parents - but it's still a brilliant device that works and considerably cheaper (while doing the same thing). I usually switched it on while having my morning coffee but I also kept it on my work table, on the side, and switched it on and off several times during the work day. While it’s not some kind of miracle cure, I’ve genuinely noticed that I feel more awake and a bit more motivated on grey mornings. It really helps set a better tone for the day, especially when everything outside feels dull and flat. Note that researches show that you usually need several weeks of correct exposure to such lamps to feel the beneficial effects. The good / PROs: 1. Nice, compact, slim and portable + a convenient stand and cover. Easy to cary with you around house and taking with you on travels. My newer tl45 is much bulkier and less convenient in this regard. 2. I like that this is a medical grade, approved device - so you are not exposing your eyes to harmful light. Saying that please note that it is not recommended to look directly at the lamp for extended periods of time and very close. It's very bright and can feel harsh if looking close & long. 3. It’s very lightweight and 0 setup haha, just connect the charger, put the stand and you are good to go. The light itself is bright, clean, and very “daylight-like”. 5.It’s LED, so it’s energy efficient, doesn’t give off much heat. TO NOTE / What could be better: 1. No built-in timer (for whoever it matters, but there is none) 2. There is no other colour for the light like in tl 45 for example. I like the warmer ones but in fairness they are weaker too in terms of output lux. And in fairness it's probably expected as this model is at least twice cheaper than tl45 while still providing the therapeutic 10k lux light. Overall in my opinion this lamp offers amazing value for your money and is kinda natural source of enhancing your day! If you struggle with low energy or winter mood dips, especially in darker climates, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a try! Hope it helps like it did for me! Stay well & cheers!
