Marvel Horror Lives Again! Omnibus

Another superb omnibus collection from Marvel. I really love these oddball collections, more so than a character or team themed one. This one includes many horror orientated characters such as Satana, Lilith, Bloodstone etc and though they were never first rankers, they are still enjoyable stories with some great art throughout (black and white as well as colour). The first volume was amazing, this volume is just as good and I loved most of the stories (not all, some are instantly forgettable). Only hope Marvel release a third volume next Halloween perhaps with Frankenstein's Monster and a number of others and perhaps a volume or two of the Atlas Horror work (much of it yet to be released such as works by Bill Everett and Joe Maneely)

For me the main interest of this omnibus, is discovering the classic vampire tales of Satana, the devil's daughter, and Lilith, spawn of Dracula.I enjoyed the whole runs on these characters.Great stories and art.Contains a classic issue of Lilith from The Tomb of Dracula magazine issue #5 with Gene Colan art.For vampire fans, there's also adventures from Blade.As of the other horror related characters, Wendigo brings along Hulk and X-men characters.Contains the classic comics of The incredible Hulk, with the first appearance of Wolverine, issue # 180 and 181.From Len Wein and Herb Trimpe.John Kowalski, agent of death, is a good read.On the downside, Hodiah Twist, Bloodstone, Manphibian, could have stayed buried if you asked me.The cover from Inhyuk Lee is very beautiful, sums up well the characters of the book.It's a nice change from the usual omnibus covers that are often weak compared to the direct market ones.
