WOW Nice filter
I put this in my 02 Deville to see if it really could up my mpg and maybe notice a difference in throttle response (I've used a k&n C.A.I. b4 on a Tahoe and sentra, and it improved both). I couldn't find any C.A.I's for this model by k&n so I just got the regular k&n filter. I've gone through 2 tanks of gas so far and went up from 20 mpg average to 23 mpg average!!! Sure, it's a little bit more pricey than a basic replaceable paper filter, but that's because it delivers better all around performance and I know it will pay for itself in the long run. Mine will pay for itself in the first 1333.33 miles. Just to prove that, I did the math for u: lets say the average cost per gallon of gas is $3.80 and u have a 15 gallon tank. that would take u $57 to go 300 miles at 20mpg average. k, then u drop in a k&n air filter and up it to 23mpg, now u can go 345 miles on that same 15 gallons. b4 the k&n it would cost $0.19 for every mile driven. After the k&n, it only costs $0.16. If your filter costs about $40, the k&n filter will pay for itself in 1333.33 miles, cuz ur saving 3 cents per mile with the k&n. some vehicles could do it even sooner. It also has a lifetime warranty on it cuz it's reusable over and over. And yes, my deville has better throttle response now, but just slightly. I mainly got it for mpg though. Why are you still reading this review???? Go buy a K&N air filter!

K&N Air filter
I have been using K&N filters for several years. This product is like day and night in terms of quality and filtration. It comes with a seal and is important that you clean the filter housing before applying it. It will create a tighted sealed surface where the filter goes, preventing any dirt from entering into your cars engine. Also there is a sticker that should be applied to the filter housing to let anyone working in your car that the filter does not need to be checked unless you authorize it. The K&N filter is good for 50,000 miles according to the manufactor but depending where you drive you should check it more often. About the performance of the filter it claims about a 10% increase in horsepower due to the fact that your engine is breathing easier. It is very possible to see some mileage per gallon increase in local and long distance driving and is also a peace of mind by having a better filter protecting your engine. I am also using the K&N oil filter in my car being that is a better and higher quality than my car manufactor. Hope that helps on your decision to better driving.

Good value
The K&N filters are a good value for long term use. Not a miracle performance enhancement but maybe a slight improvement in acceleration and maybe gas mileage. A modest boost in engine sound as well if that's what you want. Package came on time and is easy to install. Make sure you put the filter in correctly after removing the white seal from the filter.

Now my engine really sucks!
Lots of air that is.I had a new Magnaflow high-throughput exhaust system put on my Lumina LTZ, and I replaced the conventional air filter with one of these. Not quite a hot rod, but it sounds like perhaps the happiest 3800 Mark II engine in the world.

so long as it works...
I really haven't seen any improvement in my gas mileage but my car has a supercharger which could potentially impact the effectiveness of this product since my car doesn't breathe the same way as the average vehicle...
