Beautiful and stylish. Teal is my favourite LeCreuset colour.
I absolutely love it. Expect it to outlive me. So pleased the electric kettle failed. Lid is easy enough to get off. Water seemed to boil quickly. Gas cooker.

Great stove top kettle, gorgeous colour!
I love this kettle, I was fed up with my electric kettle cluttering up my worktop so thought I'd go retro and have a stove top kettle for a change. Went for the bamboo/green colour and it looks well smart, love the folding handle and the whistle is crystal clear and loud enough to hear in another room, albeit I have a smallish flat. Highly recommended if you want a funky cool stove top kettle for a change!

Nice kettle, good size, easy to clean
I bought this kettle to reduce clutter on the worktops, and I like the look of a traditional kettle standing in the hob. It looks just as it does in the listing. It is a cream colour and it is designed to go to a darker shade at the bottom. I imagine this will help to conceal any burn marks as it ages. It is obviously heavier than lesser kettles but, due to the size, it isn’t problematic to lift when filled. The lid comes off and on easily. The whistle is fine. The handle can be moved to one side when filling, if desired. However, it doesn’t move to the side on a whim and stays in position unless you deliberately move it. The handle doesn’t get hot after boiling and there is no need to use a teatowel to lift off the stove afterwards. It is a sturdy kettle and I can recommend. If you are new to stove kettles, they do take longer to boil than electric ones. However, I use this time to give the floor a quick sweep and it helps me feel productive (and I now have a very clean floor! 😊). I was worried about cleaning marks off without scratching the coating. I use a damp scourer (the kind that’s on one side of the sponge pad in the photo) and softly wipe. This removed all marks without causing damage. I can recommend.

Good old fashioned kettle
Gone from electric kettle to this which we are using on a gas hob. Performs as expected and looks nice. Purchase price was £64.80. Still quite expensive for a metal pot with spout and lid. I don’t think £100 plus is good value. But there’s very little to go wrong so potentially it will last for many years. Our electric kettle was half the money but the switch has broken after 2 years. Boil time is 8-10 mins on a medium sized burner. The whistle worked fine and sounded like a kettle should. Of course this is considerably slower than an electric kettle but you can do quick kitchen tidy while it heats up. In the summer it will be quicker I suppose as the tap water won’t be quite so icy cold. Funnily enough a cheap camping kettle is going to boil faster due to the lightweight metal construction but it won’t look as posh. Other advantage is we have cleared some space from the worktop as this kettle lives on the stove. Pouring water out of the spout works fine. If you need the last little bit then expect it to dribble everywhere. Didn’t understand complaints about the lid being too tight. It is tight enough to stay on. Handle gets warm but it’s ok. Tea was nice.

Le cruset Stove top whistling kettle 1.6l
As a long time lover of stove top whistling kettles, I can safely say, I have bought my last kettle. The beautiful build quality and workmanship means I am anticipating this kettle to last at least 20 years plus despite only having a 5 year gaurentee. The handle stays cool and is easy to use. Although the handle is rivetted on - it is solid and my husband assures me the rivets are strong and secure but easily replacable should I break them (He is very handy though) I like that I can fill from the lid or the spout but you have to take some care when filling at the spout as it can gush back if the water flow is forceful. It is reassuring heavy but not too heavy that my weak wrists and poorly hands struggle. It is surpirisingly quick to heat water and I think that is due to its clever wide base. This wide base also means the fill level is below the spout so you don't get and splashes or spitting whilst it is boiling or tipping. Finally, I love the whistle - it is loud and insistent making it impossible to ignore or forget. Do I wish I had bought it in the volcanic orange - absolutely - it would have matched all my Le cruset pots but I was worried about chipping the enamel over time and thought that the mirror finish will still look good in 20 years time evn if it dulls & scratches or stains. Thanx Le cruset for a lovely kettle.

How are the iconic fallen
I have been a fan of Le Creuset for more years than I care to remember, and own a number of pieces of cookware which I have used and treasured over the years. - but, oh dear! This kettle ticks so many bad boxes that it almost appears to have been designed as a lesson in how to collect the largest number of desig and functionality faults together in a single, over-priced, object. It would be easy to write an extended essay/critique but I will confine myself with the salients. 1. It is heavy, particularly for someone with strength issues’ 2. The lid is extremely difficult to free from the body of the kettle 3. Although the kettle is quite large, you are advised only to fill it to a given (low) line, identified inside the kettle, and difficult to see! 4. On an induction plate even the small amount of water allowed takes an age to boil 5. The whistle sounds, strained, as if it is reluctant to advertise the fact that the water has boiled 6. Once again the weight issue comes into play, as you attempt to direct the water into the receptacle. 7. At, approaching, £80 this is an expensive bit of kit, which nowhere near justifies its price 8. The whole experience undermines the feel and history of the Le Creuset brand I am keeping the kettle as a conversation piece and to advise friends who might be tempted to buy one. The conclusions about the Le Creuset brand will, of course, be solely their own!

Superb kettle for induction hobs. Very loud whistle and works on ‘Boost’ setting
I’ve been using this kettle for over 18 months several times a day, mainly on my induction job’s boost setting and there have been no issues at all. The recommendation is not to use it on boost but the kettle is still working perfectly so I think this is more a guideline rather than an instruction. The whistle is almost too loud on boost setting on the hob, less so on the normal maximum setting but still perfectly loud several rooms away if doors are left open. The kettle also looks beautiful too. Extremely happy with the purchase.

Prima ketel

nice enough to stay on the stove 100%
Great kettle. Looks nice enough to stay on the stove 100% of the time. We clean the calcium off with vinegar & not had any issues with the coating coming off or anything like that.
